Do you pull for the SEC in General?

I am as big of a UT fan as any and I always argue with different friends about SEC Sports. Some want Florida, Bama, Georgia, etc. to lose no matter what. On the other hand I like the SEC to always win if possible as long as they aren't playing UT or UT don't need the other team to win for some reason or another. Now, interconference matchups in the SEC I'll always have a favorite team to pull for but I am of the mindset if it makes the SEC look stronger I will indeed pull for Florida, LSU, Bama, whoever. Just wondering what fellow VN members thought about it.

I pull for most SEC teams in non-conf games. Some I actually want to win and some I just hope they, and their fans, don't embarrass the SEC (like bammers).

I do not "pull" for ANY other SEC schools unless that win directly and positively inpacts Tennessee.

Bowl Season, they can all lose as far as I am concerned unless they are playing teams ahead of Tennessee, or the teams I ALWAYS pull against, Notre Dame, Maryland, Texas, Nebraska, Clemson or Miami.

depends. If Florida or Alabama lose this weekend, I'll enjoy it. I'll be cheering for Arkansas tho.

it matters the situation. If they are ranked ahead of us and we have no chance of playing them like say auburn or say its the game or two before they play us, I want them to lose or at least perform bad.

I've said on here many times that I root for SEC teams versus out of conference foes. I am first and foremost a Gator. But I take great pride in the SEC as a whole. I have many friedns who root for FSU and Miami, of course, and they are ACC schools. So, I truly enjoy the SEC beating schools from that conference and really any conference just because it makes us all look good.

On Saturday, as to the Cal game, ich ben ein Volunteer.

I'm always optimistic that UT will have a chance to go to a major bowl. I look at it like they need to have the SEC be strong for the computer rankings and the polls. Say UT starts out real hot this year it would look better for them to play an undefeated Alabama team later in the year than a Bama team that has lost a couple of games already. Ideally, you'd want UT to beat everyone they play but have all the rest of those teams they play perform well to make UT look better. Or that's how I see it..

Nah, using the JFK quote when he announced standing by the Berlin Wall that "Today, I am a Berliner." Although, I later read somewhere that the literal translation of his statement was "Today, I am a jelly doughnut." Probably why he was assinated.

I'd pull for ANY SEC school if they were playing Notre Dame, or like others have said, if it positively affects the Vols. With that said, it's a silent cheer, I'll never be vocal about it. Just deep down inside of me, a little part of me will want them to win to make the SEC look good in out of conference games.

I'm the same way, I know one too many stunningly arrogant Gator fans (not you, LG) to really come out and say I hope they win all the time except for once during the season.

i always pull for an sec team when they play a non conf game. i still hate them, but i pull for them. makes the conf. look a lot better

Berliner is a pastry in the Berlin area. Normally German for I am a Berliner as we would understand it would be ,"Ich komme aus Berlin". I know too much info.

Either way, would be nice to watch ND and USC lose this weekend. Ich bin ein Vol.

I can't imagine pulling for Florida or Bama under any circumstances. When they play each other, I just don't know what to do except pray for a scoreless tie.

I was all for West Virginia spanking UGA last year.

In short, I only have a mild tendency to pull for the SEC.
