You're a relatively-fit, not elderly dude who takes care of himself. Don't let a minor virus set you back. Hydrate, eat, and get back on the horse!
I won a couple of triathlons in the late 80s/ early 90s. A couple years ago I thought I’d take another shot at one. It didn’t take me long to realize I’m old and that ain’t happenin again.I appreciate the explanation. I definitely overestimated how it would set me back.

I tested negative on Wednesday and was able to do a diagnostic run Thursday. Put in longer runs on Friday and Saturday with today being my designated long run day.

Big plans this year. Training to do my first marathon in early April. Trained for one back in 2020 but it was cancelled two weeks before the race. The time feels right to make another swing at it.
From a mileage perspective I’m well ahead of schedule. I’ve got 10 mile, half marathon and 30k races in the months leading to the race.
Initially I said my goal is 4:30:00, but that was a lie. I’ll be happy to finish under my own power, but 3:59:00 is what I really want.

Get after it youngster.
I think you’ll do great
Nice, was down for a week this month. Got my flu vax today. Think that'll do for vaxes. Got appt get knees looked at. Just cant run for sustained periods. Starts to hurt.Last week tracked running/walking/hiking activity. I got back to doing my run+walk sessions last week on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Prior to that icy roads, the flu, and significant shin splints stopped me from running (still walked other than flu).
I'm continuing my running this week but I'm slightly concerned because the arch of my left foot hurts when I do a bunch of running. I'm hoping as I keep losing weight that problem goes away.

Did get a dropper post for MTB this weekend. itching to try that out.
I’ve had the flu that’s going around. It’s not bad, or at least it wasn’t for me. I have felt very weak for the last 2 weeks and have not run. I was going to give it a shot this morning……nope. Maybe tomorrowI’ve definitely lost a step post-covid. Runs in the low 8 minute range feel like sprints, where they used to feel manageable. Luckily I’ve got some time and longer races before the marathon to see if my goal time of 3:59:59 is possible.
Anywho, 6x800 intervals today. The bug has bitten me bad. I spent the last ten years running a lot and just having fun. Now, I’m taking it as serious business. Still fun though.

Illness and exercise is tricky. Don’t want to make things worse, but don’t want to lose ground. Or you enjoy exercising so much that you feel sad when you don’t.I’ve had the flu that’s going around.
