For those who are going to the basketball game today. How about starting a chant in the first half and second half. You could yell, "Hey football recruits, come join the Big Orange Family!" It would only take a few students to get it going.

Chanting will tell the recruits they are badly wanted by the students and alumni. They already know they are wanted by the coaching staff. I don't care what is chanted. Just please chant something toward the recruits to let them know we want them to sign. ALL OF US AT VOL NATION ARE COUNTING ON YOU STUDENTS!!!!!!! :whistling:

Hey, its worth a try. The students are going to be chanting for the basketball team anyway. Why not try to help in recruiting? You don't know until you try.

I am glad most of our recruiters don't have your attitude! They turn over every stone and try every thing possible to land recruits. Otherwise, they wouldn't be so successful. Sometimes, it is the little things that makes a difference!!!

You'd be surprised how many recruits come out of official visits when they went to a basketball game and say something like: "The coolest part was when they chanted my name. It really made me feel like they wanted me to be here."

Don't underestimate how powerful it can be for a kid to feel wanted by the whole student body.

It certainly can't hurt to try it.

I just hope this reaches a few students prior to game time. I probably posted it too late. Come on student body, help Kiffin and Co land those recruits!!!!!!! :good!:

Yeah I'm still trying to figure out why this guy posted the same thing in another thread, then decided it was a great enough chant that it needed its own thread.

Woooo!! Hey football recruits come join the Big Orange Family and then you can be well on your way to winning championships and maybe someday entering the NFL and making a career out of this!! Woooo!! Guys let's do that one again!!

Let's just hope for a big win with the crowd making a lot of noise. That should help, then if you can get another chant going for the recruits even better.

I'll be watching from ATL, good luck. :)

Plus, when they get home and people asked what they did on their visit, one of the neater things will have been attending the UT/Memphis game (aside from the football stuff). And it would be cool for them to remember the standing O that they got when they went to their seats each time they thought about that game.

standing o when the football coaches are announced, "it's great ,to be a Tennessee Vol" chants during the game , plus us beating Memphis, will be enough . that lame chant is just lame

i agree. I think an "its great to be a tenn vol" would work if done by the majority of the crowd. Or remix rammer jammer lol. Say hey _______, hey _____ and hey with everyones first name, then say we want u, rammmer jammer yella hammer just dont go to alabammer! Jk.

chanting stuff to the recruits seems a little desperate in my opinion and weird. They want to go to the game and watch the game not be annoyed by chanters.

and this is why they only stay for a half?? Most of these kids have big egos. And those egos like to be fed. And i'm not gonna sit here and say that this will influence the kid alot. But if a kid is torn between 2 places and one chants that they really want him at a bball game, and the next visit they don't do anything, you never know, it could help a little. So why not try?

yeah pretty good. I wish kiffin would have walked the recruits across the floor behind the radio ppl (idk if its an NCAA violation or not), but over all it was great.
