Dobbs had

300 yards and 3 whole points. How many times this year has Worley accounted for zero touchdowns?

Worley had one scoring drive against Ore. Dobbs had 2 scoring drives against Bama and 1 against Mizzou. Those are the 3 best defenses we've faced this yr. Give credit where it's due.

I don't get the Dobbs bashing. It is true he didn't play his best tonight, but he showed some of the ability he has and he will only get better. We make a couple of those receptions for TD's and who knows what could have happened. Yes dropped passes do happen, but we are having way too many of them. The O-line needs to start playing up to their potential and cut down on penalties and running backs (Neal) needs to step it up. Take some of the pressure off our QB and see how much a difference it makes.
So, suddenly troj89 wants to play nice now.

By badly overthrowing North and others, by throwing two picks and fumbling. I sure hope he hasn't arrived.

Yea we have arm chair QB's who's momma would never allow them to play football because she was scared they would get hurt. Those are the majority of negative posters who come and vent because they had to play the picalo in high school band.

It is plain to see that this Dobbs thing is going to be just like Obama. With a certain segment of the population, no matter how bad he stinks it up, it will be somebody else at fault and if anyone steps up to call him out on poor play the race card will immediately be used in his defense. Welcome to America.

Because I guess I have nothing better to do, I am making a list of the Dobb haters on here. It tells me a couple of things about all of you. Either A, you guys know absolutely squat about football or B, you just can't stand to see the "black" guy in at QB. Given my short time and experience reading dumb posts here on volnation, I believe this is mostly due to A. Our offensive line played horrible tonight because Mizzu has so much speed on the DL. It was a horrible match up for us in that respect. Dobbs, had to get rid of passes quick all night. Our WR's dropped passes all night. As a true freshman, are you kidding me??? He runs the read option incredibly well. He is our future guys barring no major injuries. Get used to it. Believe me, coaches were very disappointed with our team effort last night, but I can assure you, they are excited about our young QB, who by the way, was recruited by Jones,,, Ferguson was not.
You left out "C". That would be that we are right and he stunk. And please be sure to put me on your list.

the longest run (33 yards) by a QB since Tee Martin all the way bad in 1999. Not too dang shabby.

He was 26-42 for 240 yards

His 42 attempts was the most ever by a UT Freshmen.

Guys I think we just might have the Real Deal here. This Kid will only get better and he is perfect for Butch's system. I am offically on the Dobbs Bandwagon now

I'd only give him a hard time for the second interception as well. The first only happened because no one blocked that DB that came in and got his hand on his arm from behind.

It was a pretty damn good showing for a first start, on the road, against a top 10 team, and you are a true freshman QB.

I was just making sure that I was clear on his statement. Furthermore, I will discuss whatever I damn well please as long as it is within Freak's rules.

By all means Doyle man, carry on. Could be therapeutically beneficial to you for all I know.

Could not agree more. Unfortunately most football fans in general have a very elementary and limited understanding of the game. They can only see things on the surface. If they actually played football, they would understand that Dobb's performance was pretty darn good, considering the poor support around him last night. Let's also give credit to the Mizzu defense. They are fast and well coached. They confused our OL all night. I can only imagine how poorly Worley would have performed against this defense.

Oddly, you yourself played the race card by dragging Obama into something that has nothing to do with him. Welcome to American indeed. :)

The variable I like the most about Dobbs is his calm demeanor. That's a sure sign of maturity...his athleticism and mentality will synch up as the game slows down for him in the SEC. That just takes time and experience.

Let me ask you a few questions, and try to be honest. Did you ever play football? Do you know what the read option is? And yes, I put you on my list. This is going to be fun. Just for ****es and giggles, I think it would be kind of fun to start a thread where folks state for the record where they see this Joshua Dobbs QB thing going. I would, but I don't have enough posts. Would anyone care to start one?

Ironically I agree, although a little differently. No matter how well Dobbs performs, some people will only find the negatives and point them out. Welcome to America.

Unfortunately true. Hope roster caught onto my sideways joke to his post. Sad the state this country has gotten now.

How many passes were dropped that were right on the money? I can't believe you can look at those stats and say Dobbs was terrible. We had no running game outside of Dobbs and the stupid offensive penalties completely killed drives. How can you blame it on the only guy with decent stats?

I assume you are new to Vol Nation. Welcome. But don't bring that crap in here. There's a political forum, and we are here talking football. Don't be stupid.

I don't think anyone is arguing he didn't try. His execution left a lot to be desired though.

I do not think Dobbs was terrible but you cannot overlook the 2 ints. that he threw. One was a bad throw and one was just an out right terrible read on his part.

I am not sure what was going on with th o-line and the flase starts.

He is the real deal because he broke a record for passing attempts in a game as a freshman. That is something Peyton Manning never did. McCarron, Murray, Shaw, Boyd, Winston, Manziel, and so many other QB's that everyone thinks of as "great" never set a record like Dobbs has. Dobbs = Real Deal.

Dobbs was terrible. You guys are a joke.

He made far too many mistakes. I expect him to get better but he was bad this evening

26/42 for 240 yards and 7 rushes for 45 yards.

That's terrible? You're being unrealistic for a freshman making his first start against a top 10 team on the road.

The turnovers were heartbreaking, but not terrible. One was off a deflection, the other was a bad decision. The fumble was just a tough break form a kid trying to make a play ala Pig Howard against GA.

Dobbs, like every player on this team under Coach Jones, showed me the most important trait I could ask for: heart. He made mistakes trying to make plays. Trying to make something happen so his team could have a chance to win.

Big things are coming for this team.

How people can say they would rather have Worley is beyond me. Dobbs has a quicker release and can run the read option much more effectively. Accounting for virtually all of the offense's yardage isn't too shabby either.

Worley can move the ball down the field. May not be the best QB ever but he is by far best we've had this season.

Yeah that's ignorant. Unless Dobbs becomes a world beater he's just keeping Worley's seat warm for him.

He almost tied Worleys record for turnovers- that Worley set against friggin' South Alabama.
