Dobbs had

F U, I will give my opinion when I want no matter if it is critical of the Your savior Dobbs...Deal with that...

So is this abt Ferguson? Figures. The Riley is Savior gang are just as bad as they accuse the Dobbs fans of being.

If its Worley- there's nothing we can do about it. Dobbs didn't screw Worley's thumb up.

Yes. He revealed it was about Fergy earlier. He's been fairly sneaky about it by touting Worley as better but not sneaky enough.

I like Fergy but the fact is Dobbs is our guy right now. Fergs will get his shot to earn the job in the spring and summer. If he's better he will play and I will support him as I'm sure most Vol fans will.

However, the Dobbs vs. Ferguson partisanship is flat stupid at this point. Both will compete in the future.

Figured it was. Didn't see the point in arguing about a guy who can't play because of injury now. Most of the guys claiming this is about Worley aren't really complaining about that at all. They're pissed one golden boy is getting the shot and the other one is clipboard holding this year. They'll both have a shot.

Sad thing is that Dobbs could develop into something really special for us and they will never admit it. Fergy could too, but it's not his time right now. so they'll just bash Dobbs for the rest of the year no matter what.

Lol. It'll be funny when Peterman is healthy and Butch inserts him back at #2 behind Dobbs. Meltdowns will ensue.

Agree, but Worley has a slow release and was constantly under throwing receivers. He also never ran the football. This is a "read" option offense. You have to keep the defense honest. Dobbs does a good job of reading the DE.

I like Worley on a personal level. Seems like a great kid and I really wanted him to do well this year, but unfortunately his time is over as a starting QB at UT. It's time for vol fans to get behind Dobbs now.

I would like to see Ferguson play

Precisely and it's all becoming rather pathetic and sadly divisive. We don't need the kind of poison their injecting and it does Ferguson no favors. Worley was improving and I feel bad for him. He will always be a warrior/hero in my eyes and not just for the SC win; he has the heart of a champ but the previous coaching staff set him and Peterman back imo and it shows (when not one but BOTH are undeveloped that's on the prior staff). However, Dobbs had a performance as a first time starter (and on the road at a top team to boot) that most first time starters would kill for. Add in that he's a true freshman and it's amazing.

Absolutely. And I agree with you that both have the potential to be truly special.

The meltdown would be EPIC. But we need Ferguson to redshirt badly. And it's no indication that Ferguson is a bad player that he's redshirting but you'd hardly know it from the major insecurities and conspiracy theories and more that have been on display since Dobbs entered the 2nd half against Bama and played well against Mizzou. I'd much rather have a dinged up but playable Worley behind Dobbs than Peterman but we have to roll with what we have right now.

However, barring injury there's simply no reason whatsoever to burn Fergy's redshirt.

Because I guess I have nothing better to do, I am making a list of the Dobb haters on here. It tells me a couple of things about all of you. Either A, you guys know absolutely squat about football or B, you just can't stand to see the "black" guy in at QB. Given my short time and experience reading dumb posts here on volnation, I believe this is mostly due to A. Our offensive line played horrible tonight because Mizzu has so much speed on the DL. It was a horrible match up for us in that respect. Dobbs, had to get rid of passes quick all night. Our WR's dropped passes all night. As a true freshman, are you kidding me??? He runs the read option incredibly well. He is our future guys barring no major injuries. Get used to it. Believe me, coaches were very disappointed with our team effort last night, but I can assure you, they are excited about our young QB, who by the way, was recruited by Jones,,, Ferguson was not.

Arhhhg!! Some how I knew the Real Vol nation racists would expose themselves by playing the race card. This is football, pleeeesse. Take it elsewhere.

Wait a sec! So you are saying an 18 year old kid with one week of practice with the first team didn't light up the scoreboard like Manning versus the Ravens this year? It is hard to fathom how that could be possible, especially against a top 10 team!...........

the longest run (33 yards) by a QB since Tee Martin all the way bad in 1999. Not too dang shabby.

He was 26-42 for 240 yards

His 42 attempts was the most ever by a UT Freshmen.

Guys I think we just might have the Real Deal here. This Kid will only get better and he is perfect for Butch's system. I am offically on the Dobbs Bandwagon now

He showed incredible poise for a true freshman. Now, lets bust out some party likker and play some of your chart toppin hits.

Auburn is going to destroy us. We need to start cheating to turn this program around. I suggest hiring Pete Carroll as an outside consultant to teach our staff how to properly pay players. With our lack of in-state talent combined with the most competitive recruiting era yet, Tennessee will have to cheat to get back to prominence. This isn't the 90s. Players go to the school that offers them the most bling and cash. As long as we keep playing by the rules you can expect to keep getting beat by the Missouris and Vandys of the league. Let's get with the program. Tired of the excuses: "Dobbs showed promise," "Hurd and Bates will right the ship," , "Butch gets it," etc. If you look at the way this team performs on the field, they are no different from last year, or the year before, or the year before that. There is only way out of this labrynth of losing: cheat!

Seriously? You're making this argument during a year in which TN has very solid in-state talent, and where we have one of the best recruiting classes in the country? How drunk are you?

Dobbs made a couple of mistakes and must do a better job with his progressions. Like Bray though he can't play defense and last night we got gashed!

:loco:

Tennesseeduke

Not saying they are the Steeler Iron Curtain but the Vol D held Missouri to their 2nd lowest point total for the year and to 7 points in the second half. A better job than the mighty Gators D. The offense just totally stunk it up and as mush as you guys want to anoint Dobbs as the second coming he couldn't get it in the end zone and his turn overs lead to 14 for the Tigers. Not saying he'll never be "the man" but he's a long way from being there based on last nights performance. Auburn's D is not nearly as good as Missouri's and the game is at home and maybe he will play well enough to keep the Vols in the game. As he is the foreseeable future I am pulling for him but let's all be realistic about what he really is - a true freshman with a great upside and currently a penchant for turning it over.

To me Dobbs looked good I think this was the first game we had over 200 yds passing this year. If the rest of the team would have played together. This is our luck we run good all year and then we get the air game going and it stop.

I am really surprised all the people bashing Dobbs

Bray spoiled us

Hey don't you know everyone sucks but Dobbs. If he had had a little help Vols would have won by 30. You're just a Worley lover. :p

Worley had one scoring drive against Ore. Dobbs had 2 scoring drives against Bama and 1 against Mizzou. Those are the 3 best defenses we've faced this yr. Give credit where it's due.

LOL nice joke.. Mizzou with a great dfense.. lol I cant stop laughing.. they are ranked 113th in passing D

You and Perico really don't get it...it is NOT about Ferguson...it is not even about Worley...It is about Dobbs, I will support Dobbs, but everyone that is already saying he is our savior are idiots...He did not prove enough on Saturday to establish that...Worley has proven he is steady and was trying to tough out the thumb injury against Bama...I have tried to bring some clarity to the whole Dobbs is the Man and the Future argument by just stating that Ferguson was in front of him on the depth chart until he got injured and Dobbs would be redshirting if Worley did not get hurt...I hope Dobbs leads us to victory against the Barners but I am keeping an open mind about our chances and our future with him at QB, unlike some of you who have already anointed him the next Tee Martin...So don't pretend to know what the **** I am thinking

Most already had their mind made up about Dobbs' performance in the Missouri game before he played the game and it doesn't matter how he really played as to how you actually view his performance

With that being said, I was pleased with his play. Wouldn't say I was blown away. I think the starting spot is his to lose from here on out.

So we figured everything out?...made all the decisions for our Vols based on this one game and last year's Elite 11?...just making sure before my slumber...LET THE DEBATE...LATER REDNECKS

He made all the mistakes that a true freshman typically makes against a top10 team. He also made a lot of good throws that were dropped. He made some plays with his legs too. By this time next year, he is going to be a solid qb. If Worley is back in at qb, he will improve as well. I think out future is bright at qb. But it is brighter with Dobbs under center just for the mere fact that he is a legit run threat. We just need to remember that every qb thrown into the game can't be Johny Football.
