Dobbs had

3 points. That is the only stat that matters. The Mizzou D played run allll night and dared him to beat us. 3 points.

I understand there were drops and things out of his control, he cant control our defense ....but he did not turn any drives into TDs and his turnovers led directly to Mizzou scores.

I like his upside though ...just not ready to anoint him .

Yes, one should always expect much more production out of a true freshman in his first start at a top ten team in the nation.

I didnt expect anything at all out of him . I think he will be great ..ONE DAY . I just hate to see everyone get caught up in a bunch of meaningless stats and this cult like hero worship. The states dont matter ...the scoreboard stat does.

We are in the same boat we have been in with Worley at times. If the QB produces , does not turn it over 3 times , and does something with 8 redzone trips , we are in the game .

The stats show: 1. He can pass, and 2. He can run. He doesn't have to be great this week. He ought to improve this week, and I am pretty confident that he will. Sure he made mistakes last week; but a 4.0 student is someone who will work and can learn. I am happy with what we have in him.

Where is this cult hero worship you speak of? All I've seen is people stating that he is "going to be great," and those rebutting with "Riley's better" comments.

Dobbs is what we have right now. I see tremendous upside and raw talent in him. Right now he is young and inexperienced. He's a good kid and to call him smart would be an understatement, so let's see what he does over the next couple of games. It's very rare a true freshman steps into that kind of situation and overperforms expectations.

Some people got carried away, but that's no different than any other week, regardless of the quarterback. There were people who actually thought we would beat Bama on here too, and that first half was abysmal in every way imaginable.
