Amid all the carnage yesterday that was our poor -coached and played defense and special teams, Dobbs in my opinion took some steps forward and improved from the Mizz game, which is a great sign. You obviously want to see a QB progress week to week and for a freshman, he did pretty well. There were some timing/route issues and a few passes that got away from him, but overall he was solid considering the situation and I am hoping with two weeks off and some confidence, he will lay the wood on Candy. Hopefully the O staff will be able to open things up just a bit more (stop with the predictable jet-sweep junk) and we can really start to see what Dobbs and this offense is capable of. GBO!

Dobbs will be fine I agree. I think between Dobbs and Fergie we are alright at QB for now. 2015 we need a stud recruit.

Yes, and we managed to run for 226 yards also...some really nice runs yesterday especially on the TD.

This loss not on the offense, that's for sure.

Agree, its kind of a shame that the first part of the season the liability seemed to be the offense and our D kept us alive and now the D has gone "sideways" and our O is keeping us alive.... interesting to say the least.

It is weird. Wonder if it has to do with who we played when? I can't think of any significant injuries that would help account for the apparent regression on D following the SC game.

Has he progressed far enough to start over Worley against Vandy, assuming Worley is healthy? I suspect that Worley will start, but if things aren't going well Dobbs will come in quickly.

Yea you are right. We have a starting qb and some wrs for the next few years. Now we need some depth on o. It looks to be coming along though. RF as backup qb, get Croom developed more and Hurd , Pearson and hopefully Malone in this class. The offense is set for the next couple of years.

He has progressed far enough to start against Candy. If something happens to Dobbs, I hope Worley comes in.

IMHO if Worley is 100% we go with Worley. Dobbs has not progressed enough to be the better option over Worley. I could see us playing both as well (assuming Worley is 100%)

The offense is improving because we are getting better QB play and the system is being learned. The defense always had shortcomings on the edges, but now they are just getting worn down due to lack of depth. Losing also makes it difficult to stay motivated.

Randolph hurt his shoulder vs bammer and has been playing through it. On the post game show last night, he said it "was fine after he warmed up and got some blood pumping through it", but it makes you wonder. I think Byron Moore has some sort of leg injury, and McNeil was also a bit nicked up.

Don't know the current status of Moore or McNeil, but Moore was visibly limping a bit on a couple plays at Mizzou.

Not aware of any other injuries, but a banged up secondary might explain some of the longer runs.

I also noticed that Auburn was very good at downfield blocking by the WRs, who, after all, don't have to catch passes so what else are they going to do?

The good blocking by Auburn does not excuse our poor performance, but it does help explain why they are so good running the ball. I saw some of our DBs just locked out completely yesterday.

A sigh of a young team you don't know what to expect from week to week, this is what we got till 2015 that's when we will play real football around here people just got to hang in there till then its hard to wait but that's what we got to do.

Much better than the D and special teams for sure. But they've gotta score more than 16 Pts for us to win. Hell, the way the D is playing we need somewhere just south of 60 Pts to have a chance.

He is definitely getting better. One of his/the team's weaknesses is the inability to convert possessions into touchdowns. He has played 10 quarters and has yet to complete a TD pass. It will come and I hope it comes in bunches against Vandy.

He has played over two full games and has thrown zero touchdown passes. I am concerned

Dobbs is our best open field runner he can actually make people miss in the open field.

It wasn't so much the coaching on defense but it is lack of team speed..,,, end of story.... This is getting frustrating for me that people do not realize no speed ..... And it won't get better until we get speed.....whew!!!!

As far as Dobbs goes he has a serious issue with reading progressions now that will come with experience of course but right now it really hurts him badly.....
