Dobbs only 5 of 12

Why? He had multiple drops, thank you Jonathon Johnson and Josh Smith. Thinking he should've been 8 of 12. Does that help?

He should be the starter for the rest of the season IMO. Hell, get Riley ready to back him up. Screw a damn redshirt.

it's still early...I liked what I saw. I hope that if he does start against Missouri he does well.

I never said bench Worley to begin with. The point of my post is that he LOOKED BETTER than his stats.

Get it?

But let me say this...his numbers hopefully will improve. 5 of 12 does suck.

He can't catch it too. The reason he looked better than his numbers is because, wait for it, he was better than his numbers. If the catchable balls he threw were actually caught, I think he's 8 of 12, not 5 of 12.

Heres the stat that is impressive to me 1st half with Worley at qb UT 0 Bama 35
Second Half with Dobbs at qb UT 10 Bama 10

I thought that Dobbs looked as good as a Freshman QB who has never taken a college level snap could have against the #1 team and #1 defense in the country in their house.

Was really impressed with his decision making and accuracy. People are right, drops killed us. But, he made some really ballsy throws and really has quite the arm.

He and North are going to have a lot of plays over the years.

But, I will admit....I was quite surprised when I heard that Dobbs was going in and not Riley. However, very impressed with Dobbs. I think that he will be okay. He'll take his lumps towards the end of the season, but I am very impressed with what he did, who he did it against, and where he did it.

For Gods sake he could've stuck it in J. Smiths facemask and it probably would've knocked his helmet off and still been incomplete. That kid has a bad case of the drops.

Agree with what you said, but I am seriously worried about your avatar. I hope that is either you or you are a girl.

I thought he looked much better than that???

This changes my opinion a bit....but whoever starts the next game, I trust Butch to make the right choice.

Just off the top of my head, I can remember a couple of Dobbs passes that were dropped.
Johnson dropped a pass! North dropped a pass!

This entire week, he will get the reps of the starter and the wide receivers will learn his timing. We will have better receiving stats during the Missouri game.

Give him a break. He's made some good plays this year. It's amazing that people want to remember the drops but forget the catches.

Just like with Foster. You remember the fumbles, but not the touchdowns.

He's a freshman. Playing in Bryant-Denny for the first time.

He's got 3 more years in orange and white. His story will change. I'm pretty sure at the rate he's going you won't be talking about his drops in 3 years.

Drops happen. Even with the best of them, they happen. Everyone fumbles. Everyone throws interceptions. Everyone misses tackles. It's just a part of the game.

Proud of the boys today. Thought they did well. Can always do better, but I thought that they grew in some ways today.

5/12 against the best defense in college football! Not to mention receivers dropping the balls. I thought Dobbs looked very impressing against Bama.

I agree he would've been around 8-12 if it wasn't for drops. One time he threw a lazer and hit the receiver directly between the numbers and he dropped it. The announcer even said man he hit him straight between the numbers.

I saw something I really liked today. Dobbs stepped back and after a few seconds it was obvious that everyone was smothered in the secondary. Worley would've thrown it away or kept holding it until pressured. Dobbs saw that nothing was there and took off and got some yards. He kept it and made some good reads in the option. He rolled out and made a nice pass on the run. He just adds so much more to the offense that Worley can't offer.

Do bs had a much tighter spiral better trajectory and I just think it will be a matter of timing. If Worley is injured next week I would hope that Dobbs starts. I don't want him to be in a hole when he goes in and I feel that Worley would press it. We have already burned the redshirt so let's turn him loose.

It may have been bama let up in the second half, but I have to say i didn't crindge with Dobbs throwing like I do with every pass worley attempts.

Dobbs really impressed me. Calm and poised, zip on the ball, can run. I look forward to seeing him at Missouri.

I want to see Dobbs at QB going forward. He has got a strong arm and can run the ball, which should open up the running game even more. He has so much more potential than Worley. I have no animosity toward Worley, and wish him the best, but with Dobbs I don't cringe every time he throws the ball.

I can't remember the last time I saw a true Freshman QB come in and look that calm, especially on the road against a team the caliber of Bama. I think this is a situation where him being a 2 sport guy is actually a help for us.

In baseball, a pitcher has to have patience and control over his arm at all times or he isn't going to get anyone out.

Dobbs is a real QB people, and I can't wait to see what he does the rest of the year. Just hope that the WR's can adjust to his velocity lol

I agree 100%...... It's not like we are going to quit recruiting top QB's....... Dobbs/Ferguson are the future.. If anyone wants to transfer, so be it........

Is Do bs shorthand for dubious?...or is the second part referencing a bovine bodily function? :)
