Maybe my memory is off... but the Dobbs led offense scored 10 points in three drives... right?

How the entire team and offense was so excited to see dobbs come in, vs when worley plays the team seems ho hmm on offense. If we really want a chance to beat Missouri i think Dobbs must start.

No. Dobbs. Worley is tough and has my respect, but he is not the future. Give Dobbs the reps and get him ready to make a run for the East next year.

it should not ever be about the future guys! It should be about who gives this team the best chance to win! Thats it!

IMO if Worley is not 100% then he should sit out until he is ready. Especially if Dobbs or who ever is ready.

For Gods sake he could've stuck it in J. Smiths facemask and it probably would've knocked his helmet off and still been incomplete. That kid has a bad case of the drops.
Agreed. I'm getting sick of seeing him drop passes or seeing us throw long to him, but practically never to Croom, and we never put Harris in.

If it were up to me, I'd have a lot of 4-wides consisting of North, Croom, Harris and Pig. That's 3 BIG WR's and a slippery pork product for defenses to have to defend.

Let Smith sub for Harris once in a while, and J. Johnson sub for Pig, but make defenses have to defend against the size of WR's we have. Haven't tried to use that advantage much this year. Instead we throw a fade to midgets or Smith, who is average in size.

Bajakian puzzles me. Mizzou has tall WR's too and that's one reason why they've done as well as they have this year.

I thought Dobbs looked good. He had several passes dropped by receivers that seemed surprised to have the ball hit them in the chest. It is MY thought that Dobbs will likely start ahead of Worley. I think he may be recognized as ahead but the original desire was to retain a redshirt season. With that gone, there is nothing to hold back.

Regardless, Mizzou now has to prepare for 2 different offenses. This will be a "gametime decision"

It's all about WINS and getting us back to a bowl game THIS season.

bUTch will do what's best for us now and for the future.

Getting us to a bowl game is VERY important so our kids will have more practice time and get another game for more knowledge and experience.

I don't care who starts or plays as long as we get more WINS and get back to a Bowl game to help our future Vols get better for next season and beyond!

I would throw Worley out like yesterday's garbage. I personally think Dobbs played better than I have seen from Worley all year.

Like I said in another thread, the meltdown on here will be epic if Butch names Worley the starter.
This is the truth and it is sad.

I'm not even convinced Dobbs is the best backup we have.

Riley Ferguson might be the best.

Honestly, I don't see why everyone is hyping up Dobbs. He really didn't show much either. He's okay.

Dang guys, I would've thought by now the Worley bashing would be over. Yes, I've screamed at him alot too, but the kid has proven he's got a little grit about him. Certainly he's proven he doesn't deserve some of the treatment he's gotten on this board.

As to Dobbs, starting him just because he "may" be the future, is essentially giving up on the rest of this season. I just don't see Butch doing this. If he starts, I really believe it will be because he, or whoever starts, gives us the best chance to win that day. Don't get me wrong, I was excited to see Dobbs and I'm excited about the future he and the other young qb's bring. I just think the decision has to be based on who can win the game now. :twocents:

and how did you figure this out? What gave away their excitement in your opinion?

Unless Worey is 100%. Then Worley should start.

Ok I hope your sitting down.......I agree 100% with you...I know its a miracle, but Worley should start if not injured...He has been a warrior all season and has kept us pretty much turnover free....I hated Butch had to burn Dobbs red shirt, I really wanted him to be able to start for us for 4 years instead of a game or two his freshman year..Dobbs will be a great QB for us but lets give him some more time and a whole season to prove it..Some people just don't understand.

He led to 2 scoring drives, kept our defense off the field, and scored more than the average points Alabubba allows (in one half). Did you expect him to score 45 and play defense?

I honestly believe if Worley were to start every game the rest of the season and we won out, there would be a ton of people whining that Dobbs didn't get the nod.

So this place melts down. Butch is coach and he will start who, the coach, thinks will best help us win the game. I doubt that any of these posters have attended a football practice at Tennessee in there life. Seems like a bunch of trouble makers to me.

I agree with you. I just want whoever gives us our best shot at winning. It's okay to have your own opinion on who that may be, but some around here seem to take that choice too personally. Just another case of people worried more about being right other than caring what is best for the team.

Sometimes you have to play for field position and punt on 4th down. Worley was on his way to becoming a decent game manager, but that's the ceiling on him. Is Dobbs a game changer? We don't know yet but we know for a fact the Worley is not.
