Says an InsideTennessee reporter. I'm on mobile, so excuse the Facebook link. That's all I can find.

An @InsideTennessee reporter says Joshua Dobbs will make his first collegiate start versus Missouri in Columbia on Saturday night. Dobbs' last start came for Alpharetta (Ga.) High School versus Mill Creek in the GHSA Class AAAAAA playoffs in November. In his prep finale, he completed 23 of 40 passes for 271 yards with four touchdowns and an interception.

Well, that's great news for us fans & for Dobbs. He came here to play w/the big boys so go out there & shock the world young man. Hope he makes us all proud with the way he's capable of playing.

I'm really excited to see what Dobbs can do. He is extremely smart and agile.

I don't mind him getting a shot, if this is true.

Hope we have someone else waiting...whether it's Worley or whomever, in case he stumbles as well though.

seems kinda weird that the decision is already made since bUTch said the decision would be made after this week's practice

Mizzous defense is nowhere near as scary as Alabamas. I think Dobbs is going to have a good game. The receivers are going to have to catch the ball.

I just want to win the game...........it doesn't matter to me who starts or plays as long as it is who will give us the best chance for a "W". :twocents:

Did you see Missouri's pass rush against So. Carolina? They come fast.

watched Mizzou for the first time and this is the very first thing I noticed. Probably the fastest front four I seen this year, in the SEC. That being said, I also notice that they over pursue, a lot...are extremely aggressive as well. SC exploited this with timely called screens. They seem to be on the smaller side in regard to size and what we are used to seeing in the SEC but this front four sheds well and they are one of the best recovering dlines I've seen so far, they pursue well.

I have a feeling that Dobbs is going to flourish in this offense. Maybe it was just me,but when Dobbs was in saturday,it seemed like the offense immediately started opening up and spreading the D out. And we actually started moving the ball and putting together positive drives. He also has a better arm and is actually a threat to run. I hope he comes out with confidence and poise against mizzou! GoVols!!!

Got to be honest, starting a true freshman QB is about as appealing to me as a root canal, but it's where we are.
