Dobbs to start against Mizzou!

Dobbs is going to do just fine. When he settles in and the nerves are over with, he is going to shock the world. He just played against Alabama. What has Missouri got that is supposed to scare him? He's quick on his feet. If they give him a chance, he will burn them with his feet. I have been dying for a running qb. OR, FL, SC have all burned us with a mobile qb.

Does this count as a morning report?

Not sure this is an explanation point at the end type of thread. Dobbs is starting because Worley got hurt. Not exactly something to celebrate. Assuming all this is true, of course.

Did you see Missouri's pass rush against So. Carolina? They come fast.

Missouri's d line is very good and do get a lot of pressure on qb's however...our pass protection has been excellent the past 2 years. It should be fun to watch.

seems kinda weird that the decision is already made since bUTch said the decision would be made after this week's practice

well,it looks like Worley is out a number of weeks,so that decision is pretty easy... he sure isn't going to burn another RS unless Peterman is still out and Dobbs gets hurt in the Mizzou game...

Got to be honest, starting a true freshman QB is about as appealing to me as a root canal, but it's where we are.

Not very desirable but as Vol Fans we are used to true FR starting. Worley did, Bray did, Casey did, Ainge did, Peyton did. We really should be used to it.

watched Mizzou for the first time and this is the very first thing I noticed. Probably the fastest front four I seen this year, in the SEC. That being said, I also notice that they over pursue, a lot...are extremely aggressive as well. SC exploited this with timely called screens. They seem to be on the smaller side in regard to size and what we are used to seeing in the SEC but this front four sheds well and they are one of the best recovering dlines I've seen so far, they pursue well.

I think USC gave us a blueprint on how to attack their defense. They really wore them out with screens....

I worry about the spread option agianst those DE's they have. You dont want your freshmen QB taking shots from those two.

We haven't been a very good screen team but we need to get some draws, passes in the flat to RB's, We have to do something to slow that front down....

I hope we can get it done. Would be huge win and great for Dobbs confidence going forward...

Very true but still dont understand the whole not burning RS deal. If they play as true FR you can see them on the field atleast 3 yrs. Now a guy can RS and play 2 yrs and leave after his Soph year like Manziel will do this yr. The rules now make redshirting a guy as a potential waste.

People act like Peterman is done at UT. If he comes in for some reason and delivers us a win at Mizzou, everyone will be singing his praises like some douschebags.

Unless he was abducted by aliens who graced him with football smarts and skills. It won't be happening this weekend

I agree. It puzzles me why we don't run more screens. I mean with Neal, Lane and Pig we could be very successful. Now I know none if our RBs are quite as good as Mike Davis but they are good enough to run screens well. Especially since we have a very good O line.

What do you think the chances are of that happening? Have you seen a worse performance by a QB then what Peterman had against UF? I haven't.

Ainge's first half against LSU after Katrina was as close as I can recall. Truth be told Worley wasnt great himself that game, both had int problems and Worley was lucky not to have had atleast 2 more. Was a bad QB day all around.

The one thing we know is that our line can protect and block. Size and experience advantage.

I agree with you. I think SC has given UT a lot to look at and think about. I'm not sure if I would say UT is not very good at screens...hard to say when UT really doesn't call upon them too much. I expect to see Neal/Lane to see plenty of counters coming their way. I have watched this mizzou/sc game three times now, just finished watching it again a few minutes ago. Dobbs can have a good day through the air if he and the wr's are on the same page. mizzou seems to have issues in zone coverage.

Dobbs looked good against Bammer last Saturday. The thing that impressed me the most was that he didn't appear rattled at all. The only thing that concerns me a little is that it's usually easier to come off the bench. There's some added pressure knowing in advance that you're "the guy".

Sanders is busy keeping his young undefeated Heisman front running candidate QB focused so that his team continues its assault on a National Title. Kinda interesting isn't it.

for a select few that might be the case...90% of QB's need the redshirt...100% of them will be better their 1st game after a redshirt than without... especially if you have a serviceable QB to begin with...Jameis Winston,Manziel,Mariota, all redshirted... If Colquitt had not gotten hurt,I think Peyton would've RSed as well...
