what the rest of you thought? i know there are some bball nuts on this board, but most of the talk, minus a few things, are all college bball, which is fine with me....

BUt i live in Charlotte, and we have an NBA team, albeit, a expansion team, but brand new downtown arena, which is very nice and all and i've even been to a couple of games, and had a good time, but i just can't get in to it....

you don't even hear that much about them on local sports shows etc...weird. Probably has to do with the Panther's run in the playoffs and college bball being a polarizing topic here as well....but for me, if i never saw another NBA game, i don't think i would care to miss it.

Just curious...

Not me. I haven't had any interest in the NBA since the Bulls broke up. I've never seen a live NBA game and really don't care if I ever do. I watched a couple of games on TV after MJ came out of retirement with the Wizards but it was pretty boring. Haven't watched one since.

I'm a Celtics fan, so when they're on TV I'll watch. Otherwise....no. I couldn't care less about the NBA.

Wouldn't bother me if streetball, er, the NBA folded completely.

I'll watch a few players; Iverson, Wade, Kobe, Shaq, and LeBron... other than that, I could care less. If I do find myself watching a game, I'd hope for it to be about 130-130.

It's amazing how the game degenerated into a slow grinding snooze fest the last 5 years or so. I think the tide is turning a little and we are going back to more of a wide open game, but there are still some teams (like my poor Hawks) that are just unwatchable.

I think it's the mentality everyone has about the NBA that we'd like to see the individual superstars... When that doesn't work. Everybody will be bummed out when it's another Pistons/Spurs Finals. The problem is that nobody outside of those two franchises seems to grasp the concept that team play is the only way to win.

I miss the days when superstars made the players around them better...Magic Johnson passing to anybody that was open, John Stockton feeding the Mailman in the low post, MJ and Pippen and Grant just plug in the blue collar big man and a post shooter in the # 2 guard spot and you got a winner. Too many thugs and super egos these days for my taste.

I think, if anything, the NBA got TOO defense oriented. It got to a point where nobody could shoot and everybody was dumping it into the post and the game became trench warfare. Like I said earlier though, I really think the game is opening up again. After a couple of years of not really caring, I've actually started watching it again.

I used to love the NBA, but now I pretty much just pay attention to the Pacers and the Spurs.

"Bring back the mid-range jumper!"

I think part of the lure of that Bulls team is that you could follow most of the season on WGN. If I want to watch the Cavs I am going to have to look at their TV schedule and really plan ahead or get lucky.

you should make an effort to see him play.. He is simply amazing... and he will only get better. think about it like this... he almost averages 30 pts and 10 asst a night. he just turned 21. imagine how good he will be when he is 23....

Or if he plays for an organization that will be willing to put a top role-player or two around him. Cavs are alright... But I don't see them becoming a Finals threat.

I went with the in-laws last year to see Pistons play at Cleveland. It was fun, James set his career high in points up to that point in his career.

Though I do have to say the Cavs could do with some better women dancers. If they are not going to wear that much clothing, at least have them all attractive!

I watch the NBA because bball is my favorite sport. Most people that don't like it, really don't know anything about it or have hardly watched it at all. They use the "thugg" excuse or, say "they don't play the game the way it's supposed to be played"....I ask how is it "supposed" to be played? It's freaking bball and I like it.

Generally, it's supposed to be played with the ball going through the hoop. That's why I was turned off by it... someone make a frickin' shot.

Like others have said, for whateve reason, teams seem to be scoring more lately, so maybe the lost art of the jump shot is returning.
