pierce their eardrums or strangle someone when they hear "HEY NEWMAN!" anytime Ryan does something noteworthy, such as a win, spin, pass, etc?

It falls into the "Boogity Boogity Boogity" category of things that were funny/clever for a few weeks, but are now about as enjoyable as a lobotomy.

For real...

Even though DW can be silly I still think DW, Larry Mac, and Mike Joy are the best comentators in NASCAR.

I think DW is ok, but has over used Boogity.....etc. way too long. LM could use some grammatical help.

The Fox crew are the worst I have ever heard, excluding the guys on the pre and post race show. Jimmy Spencer makes Larry Mac look like a genius.

A booth full of screaming girls at a Hannah Montana concert would be better than anything Fox has right now.

The only difference between Chinese water torture and a Fox telecast is that at least the race ends and goes off air.

DW and Rusty Wallace get on my nerves equally... DJ is going to be a great commentator.. Musberger and Jerry Punch are way better than Larry Mc and Mike Joy.. Benny Parsons was my favorite, we need another one like him... and someone plz tell Jeff Hammond to stay out of the tanning bed..

WOW shocked to hear you say that Doozer. I think ESPN, especially Rusty, is HORRIBLE - no excitement whatsoever. Kind of like Frank Gifford when he used to do Monday Night Football. At least the FOX guys get excited about racing because they know how difficult it is to do what we are watching- if that makes sense???

I agree with you about DJ, he will be one of the best since his dad. I think Kyle Petty can be good in the booth too.

BP was my man too, but I equate Musberger as the Lee Corso of racing. Cannot stand him. Punch is ok.

i'm already watching the race because i want to be entertained. i listen to the commentators because i want to be informed. to me, DW thinks/acts like he is bigger than the show (which is why i never liked DW).

i think Dr. Punch is one of the best, and certainly better than Mike Joy. i'm indifferent to Andy Petree and Larry Mac but give the nod to Petree simply because he at least appears to have made it passed 3rd grade English. and i already stated how i feel about DW.

Rusty was pretty bad in the booth, but not as bad as DW. i can tolerate him and Brad Daugherty in the pre race trailer over DW, Don Juan and Chris Myers any day of the week.

i really enjoyed Kyle on the TNT telecasts last year. they just need to rid themselves of Webber.

My ideal broadcast team:

Booth - Ned Jarrett, Benny Parsons and Dale Jarrett

Pits - Chris Economackie, Dr. Jerry Punch and Jack Arute

Analyst - Dave Despain & Darrell Waltrip

i am a fan of Dave Despain as well. i even have the bobble head. :matrix:


Bobby Unser was a disaster too if we move the discussion outside of NASCAR.

I totally agree! Fox at least gets excited and into the race. ESPN might be improved with DJ but they are not better than Fox. I wish Speed would just get all the races!! LOL :)

You know how I feel about B. Unser as a person, and my opinion of him as a broadcaster is no different. Overall I like the Unser family, just not Bobby. He is too full of himself.
I think Scott Goodyear does a decent job in IRL, and I like David Hobbs in F1.
A guy who was very knowledgable, but I just couldn't abide as an announcer was Jackie the "Wee Scott" Stewart.
