I remember back a while ago UT players would be on teams playing in the Smoky Mountain Classic Softball Tournament in Maryville.

I do! I registered just to be the first to confirm your memory is correct. I remember several Vols coming to Elizabethton High School for a basketball exhibition around '71. I was in grade school and got to see former QB Bobby Scott who was on his way to the NFL to be Archie Manning's backup with the Saints, among others. I remember it being a great experience. I had forgotten all about it until I saw your post.
