year except maybe Missouri have a chance to be a top 25 team? We could be a top 25 team and still not make the SEC tournament. Just damn.

I don't think Georgia, Missouri, and Auburn will sniff the top 25 this season. And I would say Florida won't jump back in either. The Vols are better than those teams at this juncture of the season, IMO.

And? Elaborate. (Florida, Tennessee, SC, Vanderbilt, Alabama, MSST, LSU, ARK, TAM, Auburn, Miss, Kentucky, GA....isn't that about everyone or am I missing someone?

Well, its not a fair question, really. In reality, every team in the country is capable of being a top 25 team. They may have to play way over their head but its theoretically possible. Its baseball and anything can happen. Having said that, it is highly unlikely that UGA, AU, and Mizzou have what it takes to get to a top 25 spot. I think everyone else has the pieces, including us. Auburn's coach has already guaranteed Auburn's presence in Omaha this year, so I guess he clearly knows something I don't. But they aren't that good - not even close.

In my opinion, at this point, we look to be a clear step ahead of those 3 teams, and a not so clear step ahead of UF, UA, TAMU, and MSU. Its definitely possible that 11 SEC teams be ranked at some point during the season, but the nature of everyone playing each other makes it impossible for a team unable to make Hoover to be ranked at the end of the season. No poll would rank more than 8-9 SEC teams at one time. Unless we get destroyed by the injury bug, I do not see any way we don't wind up in Hoover this year. And I think we should be sniffing a regional as well.

Ok, I'll give you GA, MS, and Auburn. But we could still easily lose to any of them. That is still 11 teams in the top 25. Again, just damn.

This looks like a great season for SEC baseball! I'd love to see the BaseVols play Georgia Tech in a series.

Your statement ends right there. Just having a team does not make you capable of being top 25 in anything. You have to have the talent, the fan base, the facilities, the coaching, and several other thing to be a top 25 team. Our basevols for example have had fan base and facilities on lock for a while, we are just now getting equal talent and above equal coaching, and the results are all but immediate improvement all around.

No but I Don't think we are that are far off.
Florida is better but not by a landslide.

I think there will be 3 or 4 powerhouse teams, several very good teams, the rest mediocre and two awful teams.
Lsu, South Carolina, Vandy, Florida for three or four teams that I think will prove to be powerhouses as in teams ranked in top 10 or top 15.
