Does international recruiting happen?

I only ask because one of my friends in the year below is going to UF and according to a closer friend of his he was also invited to walk on. He played his first year of university in the UK and was a beast on both lines and as a short yardage RB, but seriously? Would a team waste their time on someone whos competetion is generally light years below the average american high school?

Basketball is very different from football. Basketball in Europe is actually pretty good now. If I were a football coach, I wouldn't waste my time looking overseas or in Canada for that matter. You would rarely get back what you put into it.

I read in a Grisham book there is a pro football league in Italy,,, maybe they have some players :yes:

Ritzmann was actually part of a NFL development program while NFL Europe still existed. From there he was referred to or recruited by that small Christian school in FL. I'm not sure if those programs even exist anymore.
