OWN the SEC.
Currently reps 11 of the 14 Coaches.
He is supposedly slowing down Bamas process allowing "his" Coaches to get raises as they say NO!
Anyway just announced the Washington Coach - Deboer (who is being rumored as a top candidate.....) just switched to
Sexton as his Agent.
It is interesting and fun to watch!!

I honestly don't see how the hell he legally represents all of these people, it's a mother f-er of a conflict of interest if he's a lawyer, I'm guessing he's not, at least not a practicing one. You'd think sports agents would have similar rules even if they aren't lawyers. It's a huge part of the problem with things if they don't.

Find something your good at and do it well.
Can’t fault the man for doing his job and making people look foolish in the process.
Sexton was UT student trainer when Reggie White played at Tennessee in 1983. Later, as Reggie's first sports agent, he began a rather successful career path.

If the globalists needed help, he's my first call. Geez. Talk about a no lose situation. Sexton is the godfather.

How is it a conflict of interest with anything? He’s a sport agent, his literal job is to make sure the actual people responsible for bringing billions (and billions) of dollars into the NFL and CFB get their fair share.

Ummm…allow me to be an oracle of the obvious…suppose three or four of the coaches he represents are on the short list for an SEC program HC position. He is in each of those conversations as their agent. He knows what each of them want. And maybe the school does, too. He knows precisely how to play that for his own interests, not the coaches he represents. It’s a blatant conflict of interest that nobody seems to care about or even notice…least of all the coaches, evidently.

Umm, his “best interest” is the “best interest” of his clients, aka the coaches. Try better at being oracle of the obvious. 🙄🙄🙄

Care and notice. When one is facing a stacked deck, the choices are few.

There is no central governing body to break up Sexton's monopoly.

He's the best at what he does, apparently, and the best coaches can afford the best agent. 'merica.

It's amazing how many people want govt and authority to leave people alone so they can excel at their work until someone excels "too much" at their work.

Other agents should do better. That's how America works.

That is truly one of the dumbest things I’ve ever read on here. And that’s saying something. What are you…12? Welcome to my ignore club.

lol. Solid rebuttal.

The only way he makes money is his clients’ contracts. So getting them raises and/or better jobs, is his best interest. Your inability to comprehend that makes me welcome your ignore list. Lol

I think it’s fair to ask if there’s anyone in the world better at their job than Jimmy Sexton is at his. The last 72 hours have been an absolute master class.
For eight years I’ve said that about a public affairs civilian I worked with at the Pentagon, but Sexton is at worst on her level.

I’m sure the coaches he represents know he usually has multiple candidates for any single job opening. Once a school makes one of them their top candidate, he works to get that person the best contract. How is this a conflict of interest?

Or, even doing the Gundy and getting his clients who aren’t even interested a nice raise. He’s not the one making the hiring decision, he’s just settling the money and incentives

Does Sexton represent any ADs?

Not that I’m aware of. Gotta think White would be making more than $2.2m if he was. Definitely would assume Byrne would be making more than the $1.5m range. Still wouldn’t be a conflict of interest if he did.

Now if he was an AD of a university, we might be onto something

Not really. Think about this. He knows who the program actually wants the most; that’s usually who they get and they pay the highest price. His other coaches get raises bc he leverages potential interest in them for cash out of the programs that employ them. Sextons best interest is to make sure all of his clients make the most money, in doing that Sexton makes the most money as well. Only ones screwed in all that is the programs trying to hire or retain these coaches. If you look at the change in coaching salaries over the years I would say he’s done a pretty good job for his clients.

I’m just trying to wrap my head around how he reasoned this as a conflict of interest or even more mind boggling how he got several likes out of that post? I’m not sure some understand what a conflict of interest is?

I was most intrigued that it’s his best interest, not the coach’s. “Hey Sark, I’m remodeling the west side of my mansion, so I worked out a better extension for you. I know you really didn’t want more money, but I need a bigger cut from you to complete this remodel, so I got you a raise anyway.”
