Does liberalism or conservativism affect football?

I'm hoping my question here doesn't cause this thread to devolve into animosity and personal political views. Instead I'm wondering about university culture and the football team. Are some universities more politically and socially liberal than others and if so, how does that usually affect the football team? Where does UTK fall on this spectrum and to what extent has it recently affected the Vols? Are there any universities that have a conservative culture within the football team and what kind of impact does that make? Truly interested in this discussion, I have my popcorn ready. (Please stick to football in this thread!)

Good Lord......Let's not start political discussions in here (unless you want to see the house doors open and folks leave).

I believe it has, minutely, up until now, but it is going to get much worse. And when it does, it will do serious damage to the sport.

There's always been a dance between ADs and the academic side. Not sure if that's really political or just a power struggle between the jocks and the nerds who often happen to have different politics. In some places, the academic side has pushed back harder on things like admissions exceptions, player support, etc. CPF would probably tell you that part of his demise in the 2000s was related to that.

Liberals because of their habit of cheating and "what's good for thee isn't good for me" attitude have an advantage in football. However liberal footballers are like other liberal men...weak, soft, and mentally wishy washy. It completely negates their advantage from the lack of integrity.
So conservative areas do better at football.

Of course.

Teams from the states Trump won tend to dominate teams from blue states.

Want a good football team? Vote conservative.

Georgia Bulldogs were pretty darned good. They beat Tennessee-Knoxville and South Carolina both. Georgia is liberal now

The fans are way more conservative that the school administrators. I think academia hates football because the fans leans conservative.
