Does Peyton being on staff provide........ any greater LEGAL access to assist in recruiting efforts? It obviously cements his VFL status in the public eye. Sure would like to have you in my class....etc.

Professor Peyton will be far too busy with the co-ed's to bother with any football related activities.

I'm not sure we'd be interested in a recruit where listening to Peyton lecture about the communications business and maybe rubbing elbows with him actually moves the needle that much for recruiting.

If I'm coming to TN, I expect Peyton and other VFLs to be around some but Manning, in particular, has a lot of business interests and a high media profile well beyond his VFL status. Besides, the young guys probably want the odd chance to talk with Tillman, Hyatt or Hooker more than Manning. He graduated well before they were born.

The problem is... Pretty soon, we'll be recruiting kids that don't even know who his is or that he even played at UT!

Then we have failed them as a society. It is our jobs to teach them about our history. Everything from US, World, CFB, NFL, Baseball, etc. I knew who Johnny Unitas was. He played decades before I was born. I would still love to meet him some day, even if it's in the afterlife. What an incredible athlete.

Iirc, Peyton has a mansion in Colorado. Why is he always hanging around UT especially with all his other business/media interests? I assume he is very busy and his family is back in Colo. Is this Professor status honorary or will he actually teach? Will it be a remotely taught class?

I guess if Peyton is now the Professor, he has retired from being the Sherriff.

Not so fast, my friend. I have it on good authority that a press conference tomorrow morning will announce that he's accepted the offer of a dual appointment with lectureships both in Communications and in Criminology and Criminal Justice.

Johnny U passed in 2002, so in the afterlife it will have to be.

Sad and hopefully not the case. I wasnt old enough to watch them play, but still knew who the all time nfl greats were when I was a kid.

he will be teaching a class in Knoxville.

He also has homes in Louisiana, South Florida, Chattanooga and Not sure if he has sold Indianapolis home yet. Probably has something in Knoxville as well although I've not heard that he does.

He's all over the place. He's good at making sure people will know who he is. Commercials, Monday Night Football, etc. They will know who he is for years to come.
