Does Tennessee have a chance to flip Miami Commit Tyler Byrd since the coach who recruited him to Miami,Larry Scott,is at Tennessee? He's got a very good opinion of Larry Scott and there's a good chance of him following him to UT(Miami fans are nervous about that) He's a very good DB and would be a great addition to the Vols.

I thought so until someone said his brother runs track at Miami. I doubt he would leave his brother but you never know.

That is kind of a tough question. Tennessee has a JUCO now on campus or moving in, Desmond Henderson. They also have Marquill Osbourne who has signed his FAA. By my thinking, Tennessee is set for this class at CB.

By design, it has been stated that they plan to take less than 25 players this year. As I understand it, the plan is 22. The question you have to ask is: How do the numbers work out to bring in another DB? I feel, if he decides to come, Nigel Warrior is one of the highest priority recruits on the board for Safety. Add the CBs and safeties on the roster to the list. Looks crowded to me.

However, I felt they were done at LB, and I hear they are talking up one in Georgia. So, just because alot of folks like me think we have our CBs doesn't make it so.

The final push to finish the class is on, and until NSD gets here, Butch and the staff will be making a bunch of tough choices. The addition of Larry Scott to the staff very well could mean they offer Byrd if he wants to follow Scott up here. Stay tuned, because from now to the end anything can happen.

Marquill Osbourne says things like "if we keep CWM". He seems pretty attached to him. So idk if he is let go what Osbourne will do.

New DC may want to bring his own staff in.

True. If it's true, I just wish these guys the best since they've endured some pretty rowdy times to get us to where we are, and may not be around to experience the rest of it.

Per Hubbs

Also, we wouldn't be surprised if Tyler Byrd made a visit the last weekend in January. Nothing is final, but it's something Byrd is finally open to from what we've been told.

He told us earlier this week in San Antonio that he was solid to Miami and we still believe that, but he's at least contemplating making the trip with Carlin Fils-aime that final weekend before signing day.

I know 22 was the number. With Jones transferring, does that become 23…?

No, 22 is the upper limit because of the 25 scholarship limit and the three blue-shirts from last year. 20 was the lower limit based on the 85 scholarship limit.
