Does Volnation have any auto mechanics on the roster?

... I assume it's not getting cold. :D

Just kiddin, Could be that you're out of freon. Your compressor or the compressor switch has gone bad. It may be a bad fuse that's shorting the system out.

Easy answer: If your not mechanically inclined, I seriously suggest that you take it to a goodyear or pep boys type general auto repair place and get it fixed right the first time.

and if they screw it up...sue em.

I have a question too. What would make a car not start up when it's hot outside?

Here's the deal. Seems like when it sits in direct sunlight on a hot day, it won't start. Well, it starts and then it dies and then it will just churn like it wants to start, but it's like it's out of gas. After about 5 minutes of trying, it will finally start.

I know nothing about cars, but it seems like it's a vapor thing. Could fumes or something keep my car from starting on hot days? Or possibly the fuel pump?

It's really strange.

yeah... but I don't know what kind of car he has. But most older models still use it or some other type of refigerant.

It sounds like it could be the igintion coil or the main relay switch. The switch in particular can be sensitive to heat.

I'll have to get it checked out I guess. :ermm:

yeah.. I wish I could tell you exactly how to fix it. but the problem could come from any of those parts. It doesn't take much to turn these late model cars into paperweights. All of the computers that regulate the cars systems can make it a pain to work on them now.

ive just had the blower motor replaced, and before the installation the AC was puttin out cold air, but no gush of air. After the installation its hot air coming out gushing. I had the freon checked by the gauge and the tech said it had freon, he claimed a valve wasnt opening that by passed the heater core and went through a condenser. which is what with freon causes the chilled air. He's saying its running thru the heater core, because a valve isnt opening which I know may just be a dead fuse...whish may have got damaged during the blower motor install, or was mis wired. Its pretty complicated, I was hopin we had a good mechanic amonst us.

Man, we have the same problem. Mine blows hot air. Took it to the dealer. $800 is what the quoted me. The compresser, blower/dryer, orafice tube (I think they started making up crap now) is screwed up.

damn...

It sounds like the climate control valve isn't opening. If you took it to a shop, I'd take it back and tell them to get it right or risk legal action. They tend to puss out when you threaten them

And If you didn't...then taking it in while being a pain in the ass and the wallet, will be worth it when fixed.

it was for Dan.

as for yours It could be the same exact situation with OWB. The suck part is that with our cars, unless you know someone who can do the work for you at "friend prices", Your gonna get screwed one way or the other.

Even If you find a shade tree mechanic who'll do it for the cheap. You run the risk of getting ripped off because his work isn't guaranteed.

I've got a pontiac. I had a friend who was ASE certified, but he got orders to Barksdale AFB, LA.

I was told to buy the parts myself, take them to the dealer and take it as easy as I can for labor.

My bro's Cherokee used to have the same problem OWB, and just like Crew stated... it was the starter relay. A very cheap and easy to replace part if you know what you're doing, but not if you're you... Crew knows his stuff.
