Donovan just turned down the NBA

I think this means that it is only a matter of time. Had Memphis given him total control, UF would be in search mode.

I would not call it a sense of relief. Donovan has made no secret of his interest in trying his luck at the next level. There's no way he could ever duplicate the run of the last two years. And he's only about, what, 43 or so? He's going to leave for the NBA -- its just a question of timing.

I agree LG...he'll leave for an NBA job...it'll just need to be the right job at the right time.

Memphis wouldn't have been a bad gig for him...but, I think the Grizz did the right thing by not offering him total control. That's a recipe for disaster.

Yeah, just ask the Celtics when they did that with Patino....

He will pull a Spurrier! Leave, fall on his ass, then return and break the bank as Pitino's sucessor!

The NBA is not a coaches league. It's a front office's league. Teams are usually as good as the talent managers get them. In most cases, who is coaching doesn't really make too much of a difference, unless we are talking Larry Brown, Phil Jackson, etc.

Maybe. Orlando may have what it takes to go to the top.

Of course, in the east, that basically amounts to beating the Pistons. But still.

Fire Brian Hill

As a Magic fan, I think it is time to take a step in the other direction, and hopefully the Magic could get a great coach.........just don't know if thats Billy D or not. :)
