The clear incompetency of our AD with a knee-jerk panic hire like this, or the impending future of our football program? I am a UT grad, but it is time for me to take a step back from the program and watch from a distance because my health is too important to stress about this free-fall any further. I will always be a Vol, but this is just sad, sad, sad. :hi:

I'm not going to say anything bad until at least his 2nd season...Like Dooley I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt because of the situation he is coming into...you never know he might surprise us....but time will tell..

I think the future will be okay with Jones. I think he's got a decent chance to be a winner here.

What is obvious, however, is that our AD is an incompetent buffoon. The way this coaching search was handled, from weeks of inaction, to making offers to second tier candidates obviously looking for raises, to ending up with a guy who is way down the list, is a real risk and will further divide the fanbase, Hart has shown that he is incapable of doing his job and he needs to go.

I think Jones has tons of potential (something I never could say with Dooley), but when a comparable (or lesser) program like Arkansas is out there hiring a young guy who is a proven winner at the highest level, hiring Jones for his potential is unacceptable.
