....why do old white guys in pickups drive like they have nitroglycerin onboard? Got behind this goober on my way home and at each green light he would creep slowly forward at a snails pace. The red lights on this particular street are sequenced so if you drive at a reasonable pace you never have to stop for a red light. We stopped at every single red light. Finally he turned off the road after slowing down over a quarter mile. Was impossible to pass. :banghead2:

Self driving cars can't come soon enough.

How do you know he didn't have some girl in there tickling his pickle? She may have said fun's over when we get back to my house so he was taking the scenic route.

the truck probably had bad brakes or some mechanical problem that made him cautious who knows ?

It didn't hurt my feelings, but when I'm an old white guy driving slow in my pickup, I will remember this. Then I will hunt you down and whoop your butt!

Everything's cool. Not like you singled out a particular group (like women and cell phones).

I deal with this in Halls/North Knoxville every day, except it's usually minivans.

Nowhere to go and all day to get there. It just takes one to cluster a road and then we all get lumped together.

Funny: Minivans, Yukons, and luxury SUVs are apparently all invited to compete in the Farragut 500 out here every weekday morning just before school starts.

Let's have lunch, and I'll enlighten you. May I suggest the Waffle House?

I live 12 miles down a 25mph back road that takes us to the closes town. I always get stuck behind farm equipment, guys riding mules and anything else that can slow me down. I believe in "driving it like you stole it".

So if I ever get so old that you all see this truck driving slow on the road, please feel free to follow me to the local Waffle House. I will buy breakfast and you all can call 12 of your buddies to come down and help you whoop my big ole county ass.... lol

Give it thirty/forty years and you will be driving the snail (at a snails pace for all sorts of good reasons that you will think up) complaining all the while about some young buck riding your fanny all the way to the grocery store.

Thanks, bought it and pulled it out of a barn about a year ago. Just now getting it on the road. New fluids, brakes, tune up and fuel system. I just finished painting it a couple of weeks back. Used Massey Ferguson Grey tractor paint... lol

It is an old 78 Military Power Wagon. Slant6, 4spd 4x4 with only 72k miles on it.
