They just did the player introductions and Donte was the only player that I saw to not say his college but to say "Sacramento, California....Blah Blah High School".

Why does he (or any player for that matter) do that? Does he have some kind of beef with Tennessee or is he just wanting to be "different"?

Someone brings this up every time it happens. It doesn't mean anything. Just be glad UT has three guys starting in this game.

I want to know why he does that as well so if anyone knows please reply.

Maybe every time Peyton Manning says "University of Tennessee" a high school in Louisiana mourns. Maybe Donte is merely appreciative of the coaching he received in high school as well as the coaching he received in college. Maybe it doesn't matter.

Some players just like to give "shout outs" to their high schools. Some of the guys have even gone as far as to say their elementary school and stuff like that. It's nothing against UT.

Well, I'm with Gcrop, I like it better when they say Tennessee - when they don't it makes it sound like they're ashamed or something. Talked with Stallworth the night before the LSU game at Calhoun's on river - he was very nice. If I'd known he didn't say "Tennessee" I probably would've asked him about it! (yeah, I had a few Jack Daniels!)

Maybe its because he graduated from his highschool and not from Tennessee.

I heard some players just said their high school names in the last few Sunday Night Football. I am not sure why they did that, but I figure our Donte Stallworth is not the only one did this. But this definately makes me feel bad, without UT, he is just a crack boy on the Sacramento street.

Get over it . . . lots of players get creative in those introductions.

He'll always be from the University of Tennessee. I'm guessing that's not going to change over the course of his career. :)

What I've heard about this is that if a player had a bad college experience he would mention his high school or whatever. Not sure about Donte, just what I've heard. Not that big of a deal.

There have been a few UT players to do this on MNF so get over it. Nothing against UT, its just a thing they do. It doesn't bother me at all, since we have tradition here at UT and no one can take that away from us.

speaking of introductions why is it that players put an emphasis on THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY and the U. I like it when they say TN as opposed to their high school also, but hey it's their perrogative.

I would rather him say the name of his HS than say "The U" or "THE Ohio State University" like some of those morons do.

What makes them a moron about the THE part in tOSU? Like GAVol said, it's completely accurate. That is the real name of the school they went to. You getting all pissy over emphasis of words?

It's better than some guys who come out mumbling.. "duh uh San Pedro Valley Junior College uh"...

We're "The University of Tennessee." Anyway, I'm pretty sure I've seen Terry Glenn say his high school instead of Ohio State. I've also seen a few Miami players do it. Guess what? Some people like their high schools, too. It's not disrespectful to their universities.
