Adams: Dooley gets recruiting in writing GoVolsXtra

Dooley counters revisionist recruiting history with documentation. He insists all assistant coaches write down evaluations, which he keeps for future reference.

The head coach keeps his own notes as well.

"I make mistakes, too," he said. "So I want to see 'Where did I miss on this guy?' Maybe we thought a guy was phenomenal and he comes in as average. What did we write about him?"

I wonder where he got this from....or if if it's his own thing......seems pretty thorough...hopefully it works out

The doldrums of the summer are nearing an end and sports writers everywhere will actually have something of substance to say about college football.

Yeah, the fact he keeps notes completely validates the Dooley hiring. Great point.

Way to take the topic out of context.

IDK if Dooley will be successful or not in the SEC but I do know he is detail oriented enough to do a good job. It's a trait that can help a person be successful. Too early to tell if he has the scheme knowledge to be successful against the likes of Saban and Meyer.

He's not taking it out of context. He was responding to the post above. Taking notes is some thing all coaches does. This isn't some ability that only Coach Dooley has. This is just I have nothing to report so we get this article.

Seems a little OCD to me, but if a little OCD will reduce mistakes on the field that can lead to wins, then so be it.
Gotta love the Tilley,,, I've had one for 8 years now and
it looks as good as the day I bought it,,
