Dooley brought good players h here, however he did not coach them. Really don't think he had a clue. CBJ has had to retrain players, talent or not.
Truly believe if Dooley was at yr 0 then Jones and staff are at -2.

Our OL passed blocked for 3 yrs and that was it we abandoned the run. Did not want Peterman to start but felt he should play

The defense plays like they just learned how to play last week.......as you see 1 florida player constantly blocking 2 vols and they run into each other like the bad new bears (the football version)......how can you be the outside man on defense (like cornerback) nobody blocks you and you still get OUT RUN to the corner

Peterman wasn't ready, i've been watching the Vols for over 20 years and that's the worst quarterbacking i've ever seen. I understand CBJ wanting to change it up, but there's no way Peterman should have stayed in as long as he did.

We are so freakin slow. Anyone can look slow against Oregon. Florida makes us look ridiculous. I can't believe how slow we are. So sick of looking like this.

Note: While I'm not a huge fan of a few of the offensive play calls, I think most of this is player talent level and execution.

Dooley did not recruit enough speed on defense. We are consistently getting beat on the edge.

BS. This one's on Butch not Dooley. This was a winnable game.

It really was not and it depends on which armchair coach you listen to...the Peterman question has been answered....this team was a major undertaking to turn around look at the numbers and untrained players left by Dooley.

I'm sorry. This is the most idiotic thread today. What players on this team are butch jones' players??

Just look at 2009, Kiffin with the "lack of talent" we had then coached a great game against Florida.

I thinks it was. Gators made a ton of mistakes and lost a starting qb. We ran the read option with no qb keeps, design keeps or deep threat with an inexperienced qb starting his first game against a top rated D in the swamp.

Only a coach who is unsure of himself would have started Peterman

Only a retard would have kept calling passing plays.

This is on butch Jones not Dooley and not the players

1) What would you have done if Worley had started and played just as terribly as he has for the last 3 games? You would have complained that we should put in Petermen. If Petermen had the better practice week, why not start him?

2) We had to pass because our vaunted o line was getting it's tail whipped by florida's dline all night. Did you see #2 push our center 4+ yards into the backfield on almost every play? How can we run on that?

3) So, butch jones comes in his first year and beats the #1 defense in college football with a team that is 1-25 against ranked opponents in the last 5 years? Right

Marquez North who had some good catches
Josh Smith, who had some good catches
Cameron Sutton, who had a good pass breakup.
Devaun Swafford, who had the pick 6.

Those are some of Butch's players.

Hard to run a read option with players that were recruited to run a pro style offense

Best post in this thread. Guys, do yourselves a favor and go look at the 2010-2013 recruiting classes. Ask yourselves which ones actually play as well as they should.

Now go and look at the 2014 class. The talent gap is huge. We have 11 four stars on the roster. Not to mention, I Hurd we have a 5 star as well.

Let Butch get his players here

I think the people blaming butch is about a complete joke. in 2-3 years when we see all of butchs players coming in, then we can evaluate him as a coach. until then theres no need to evaluate him because we have a team full of dooleys trash that have little to no talent whatsoever. I understand some of the playcalling is questionable but every team has some questionable playcalling. Dooley for some reason didn't recruit speed at all and that's what we desperately need and that's what butch is trying to get.
