3HL had their weekly interview with Dooly yesterday afternoon on 104.5 The Zone. Dooley did a very good job answering the questions that Travis and others asked, even though he is in a very tough spot right now. After the segment, the 3HL crew made a correlation between Corso and Dooley. Both were not very succesful head coaches, both with a wacky sense of humor, and both very good on the radio and tv. They went on to say he would be an outstanding replacement for Corso on the Gameday crew, and I actually agree with this. Thoughts?

Also, anyone have an idea how much those guys make? I figure they have some good endorsements as well.

I don't know, but he should pursue something in that line of work because he isn't a very good coach. His head coaching days are over. He had his chance twice and failed.

Lee Corso actually won games.

And Lee Corso is a rah-rah, high energy guy.

Dooley is more laid back. He's got an okay personality for public speaking, but no one is going to tune in to see what Dooley has to say about college football.

not really

okay, honestly, he was pretty bad. But compared to Dooley, he was solid. I mean, he had a few good seasons at Louisville. He lost alot at Indiana, but everyone loses at Indiana. It's not like he took over a top program and led them to their worst 3 back-to-back seasons in over 100 years. Corso was bad. Dooley is next level awful.

Corso has way more personality than Dooley. Dooley does answer questions well but he is not a great personality. Most of the time when Dooley tries to have a little personality you look him like "dude really the Germans"

Isn't Bristol too cold to grow bamboo?

I mean, regardless of how much you water it.

Just sayin'

I could think of at least one school that he is good enough for. :hi:

I think CDD loves coaching too much to become a talking head on tv or radio.

He'd also be a good AD IMO since he knows the law and coaching and he could sure as hell do better than Hamilton did to us.

VFL...GBO!!!

I think Dooley would possibly be solid on a radio show, but I'm not sure how great he'd be on TV. Honestly I can see him being another Bob Davie if he got into color commentary, and that's not a compliment.

C'mon Man---dont be a hater. Dooley would be very good. Davie has no voice at all. Sounds like Grandma whispering. I think Davie finally got canned/ took a coaching job.

My question is, how would the orange pants look on tv? That would be the deal breaker either way.

I really don't care what Derek "DUDley" Dooley does... as long as he is no longer coach of the Tennessee Vols!

ESPN has turned Corso into the crazy uncle who's not playing with a full deck upstairs. I don't think Dools would allow himself to be clowned like that for that gig.

Meh, Corso's mind has gotten worse and they have tried to play along. Dooley wouldn't have to act like that. He has enough wit about him to keep people interested.
