It appears so. Before the tournament started some people were saying the SEC had 4 teams capable of getting to the final four lol. Looks like the whole league was overrated. After UK tanked, I wondered in another thread if the SEC was overrated and questioned if we were also. Guess those questions have been answered.

Spot on, Ghost. At least we lost due to poor shooting. I thought we clearly looked like the better team on Saturday; but you go 2-for-18 from 3, and the majority of those being wide open looks, while your opponent is hitting miracle shots the entire game, it's difficult to win.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: the NCAA tournament is an entertainment product. Not a realistic evaluation of the best teams. We read way too much into a one-and-done tournament in a sport with a very high degree of variance, particularly when it comes to offensive production and shooting. It's why the NBA playoffs are best-of-7.
Though, Auburn was probably the most overrated SEC team and they got the easiest path (and still lost), while us and Kentucky got stuck in Murderer's Row. Arkansas has played well, but they also have bad luck in having to face Gonzaga in the Sweet 16. It is what it is.
F***. I hate agreeing with a KY fan. Nailed itAll that said, the NCAA tournament is an entertainment product. Not a realistic evaluation of the best teams. Kentucky, too. As embarassing as it is to lose to a 15 seed, Saint Peter's shot insanely well in that game, while Kentucky went cold.
Auburn's the one that should be a bit embarrassed. Miami just outplayed them. Auburn was also gifted an easy path by the selection committee and blew it.
Feel bad for Arky, because they are playing well right now, but have the misfortune of playing Gonzaga. I wouldn't be shocked if Arkansas wins, but that's a tough hill to climb.

The NCAA tourney couldn't do a best of 7 obviously, but could they do a best of 3 for each matchup? I know that would take altering the season length and such, but would it be possible? The first four could still be a one and done.
And the BIg10 got some very favorable calls from the refs. From, a player standing out of bounds touching the ball then giving it to them, Charges one way blocks the other, missed goal tends, even my wife was beginning to say they were getting breaks...but only enough for 2 teams to still be in it.F***. The NCAA post season tourney is no longer a NC game. Its nothing more than a tournament with a title. When a conference has 9 of its 14 members invited, its a beauty contest not a tournament to crown a champion. At worst, 7 of those teams shouldnt be there.
Not only the NBA but MLB and NHL are series tourneys
