It seems for two teams not that far apart with storied traditions in football that playing each other would make sense. Can you imagine all the orange in that venue? Wondering what everyone else thought of these two teams playing each other in Bristol down the road.

That would be cool but geographically wouldnt make much sense for clemson to have it in bristol. Bank of America stadium in Charlotte would be good. From what I understand this game in Bristol is a one time shot only

Down the road: Do you realize that when we start really winning again, that we will likely play Bama twice in one season? Once in the regular season and once when Bama represents the S.E.C. West in the S.E.C. championship game?

It may be difficult to beat them twice in one season. I prefer to lose to them in the regular season and beat them in the S.E.C. Championship game. This way, we can have another S.E.C. Championship trophy to add to the trophy case.

I'm a Vol that lives in SC and I would love it if we won, but it would be awful (for me) if we lost due to all the clemsux fans around here. They can be quite annoying.

By the way, beating SC was awesome because I wore my UT stuff and rubbed it in all of the SC fans faces...it was very satisfying.

Why would Clemson want to play at Bristol?? Gonna play at a NASCAR track, might as well be Charlotte. I don't like the idea of playing at anymore NASCAR tracks. Too gimmicky to me.

Okay, not sure where you're going with this, but easy on the coffee.

Already looking past Virginia Tech.

No, just looking at other teams, but as someone earlier posted that Bristol is a "one off" then it wouldn't matter. Mainly I would like to see this series (UT -v- Clem) started even if it were played in their respective stadiums.

Has their been a game already played at a Nascar race track?

The language on the site leaves it open to future games and believe it is intentional. It will be successful and if so they will try again. The key word on the website is "inaugural" as in The Inaugural Battle at Bristol.

If we reach the level that we are making it to Atlanta on at least a fairly recurring basis, then Bama probably will have taken a step backwards.

Bristol has done nothing but hint their hopes that this is not a one time thing. Not sure where everyone is getting that bad info from. Clemson is very close to Charlotte. If Bristol is a bad idea for Clemson, why on earth would we want TN to travel to Charlotte?
