CLEMSON Former Clemson defensive tackle Eric Coleman and three other draft prospects tested positive for marijuana, according to published reports.
Pro Football Weekly and NextLevel Scouting Inc. reported Coleman, Bowie State safety Atcheson Conway, Wisconsin defensive tackle Anttaj Hawthorne and Wisconsin guard Jonathan Clinkscale failed drug tests at the NFL combine in February. The NFL would not confirm if any players tested positive.
The reports stated the NFL mailed letters to all 32 teams informing them of the positive tests. Coleman had been regarded as a middle- to late-round selection in the draft, which is held April 23-24.
A message left for Coleman was not returned.
If the reports are accurate, Coleman and the other three players will enter the NFLs substance abuse program. They will be subject to random testing, up to 10 tests a month, for the next two years.
