The Kansas City Chiefs. Trent Green is getting old, they really have no other pressing needs to be filled this offseason (wouldn't mind a burner at WR,) and they could let Young, Leinhart, or (?Cutler?) have 2 years to develop under a veteran and pro bowl QB.

KC is an intriguing possibility, but I think what really happens is now Norm Chow gets his boy Leinart to the Titans. ESPN's guru Clayton thinks the saints really want this DE Mario Williams and are willing to take him at 3. That being the case, why not the Titans and Saints just swap picks?

If someone does trade up to 2, how do the Saints know that their player will still be there at a lower spot? He's a pretty hot property after all.

Leinart to Titans, to go with newly added David Givens[Pats], and Kevin Mawae[jets?], plus LB Thornton[colts]. That's a pretty good offseason for Nashville's own.

What do you think of the possibility that the Titans would take Cutler as the hometown fav pocket passer?

I think Chow likes Cutler and sees his potential, but in the QB pecking order I believe the Titans think...Leinart...Young...Cutler.

I've never been a fan of Cutler... I saw his potential a couple of years ago, but I don't think his head game is where it should be. I'd rather the Titans pick Young though. Leinart's attitude gets under my skin.

Ditto that. Not sure how all that "hollywood hunk" business would play down here.
That being said, if you put Leinart's knowledge of Chow's scheme together with McNair's knowledge of NFL defenses, you'd really have one fine QB.

Too bad. There is no possible way Tennessee takes Young over Leinart. Looks like the Titans will have an ex-Trojan at the helm. Tough cookies to all you USC-haters.

I'm such a USC hater that I was VERY excited about picking up Chow... I don't hate the TROJANS, I hate that big headed prick Leinart.

Well I assume you'll have to deal with a lot of that... As a starting QB, you know he's only lost like 6 or 7 games his whole career, HS included. He played for Mission Viejo in California who has been an undefeated/1-loss team since the dawn of time. Get ready for your guys' soon-to-be new QB's world to come crashing down around him as he experiences the agony of his first season with a record under .900

The guy has major skills for all to see. And he's a great fit for the fireballs.
Reading NFL defenses is a 2 to 3 year journey for any new QB, so being behind McNair for a year or two would do him nothing but good.
As for that .900 win%, I wouldn't mind a bit if he dragged that down south too! :D

The disrespect he had for Texas after they beat his team on the field disgusted me. The guy has major skills as a player, but he needs some work socially.

His problem is that he basically never loses, and he doesn't know how to deal with it. He's got fantastic skills, no doubt Leinart is among the best college QB's of all time. But you know the Titans are going to lose some next year, and thinking playoffs is still a long ways away. It's going to be interesting to see how he reacts to losing multiple times in one season for the first time in his career.

I don't know if Leinart is one of the greatest college QBs ever, but he has been remarkably successful. Of course, he has also been surrounded by remarkable talent. That will change a little when he comes to Nashville. I guess we'll see how he handles it.

I agree there. Leinart is very accomplished, but his supporting staff dwarfs any individual talent he brings to the table. Pair him up with some of UT's underachieving WR's and RB's for a college game and his performance will drop. Well, most of the dropping will be by the WR's. His passes no doubt would almost always be within reach.

you can add Chris Hope, Strong Safety from the Steelers to that list
