The deal is for 3 years and will be the primary sponsor for 22 races. Drive to End Hunger can sell off space for investors as well. Rick Hendrick said he has the 14 remaining events covered and announcements will be pretty quick. Rick said DuPont will return in a limited amount of races as a primary sponsor.

How do you feel about Drive to End Hunger sponsoring the 24 and investing millions into HMS? Couldn't that money be better spent on actually getting food for people?

You would think so.

It speaks volumes about the state of NASCAR when Jeff Gordon can't get a full time deal.

I can give their rationale for sponsoring #24, it's the same reason for every sponsor, spend money to make/raise money. By raising public awareness, when people see/hear one of their fund raiser campaigns, the hope is by knowing who they are, the public will be more likely to donate.

Then there is the fact that many charitable organizations are more involved in perpetuating themselves and growth of the "business". They raise lots of bucks, but most are used to keep the organization alive, and only a small amount goes to the recipients.
