Saint Patricks Day, Boston:rock:

It sucks that it's at House of Blues, but heck, i've seen them at worse places. At least i can do a good pub crawl after the show lol

How cliche...

Can't really get into them. Although some of their stuff is okay.

I have never listened to a whole album of their music, but I liked the songs used in the Departed. I may check them out more closely.

Any suggestions, JTrain?

Used to listen to a lot of Dropkick and they still put on a great show, but if you like this style listen to Flogging Molly instead. Pouges are a damn good option, as well but wouldn't put them in the exact same category.

The first two dropkick albums are my favorite by far. I like the Pouges, and Flogging Molly as well. It all is about the same to me and fun to see live. Have a good time.

edit: If you like DKM then try to find the Pinkerton Thugs...good stuff

I was also big into The Ducky Boys, about the same time DKM started putting out albums in '97 or so. But i'll go with bigdaddy, "Boys on the Docks" is the best Album, the rest are pretty good, but not as top-to-bottom good as the initial.

Also, the renditions of the old folk songs are great.

Not really cliche, i'm generally in Boston for the parade every year anyhow, just saying F work and heading up for for the 17th and, at least the morning of, the 18th. I've probably seen them 2 dozen times, but never in the Old Town on ST Patricks day

Cliche as in Irish punk/metal/rock (whatever they are, lol) on St. Patricks Day in Boston...

Would be a great atmosphere, nonetheless. Enjoy!

Say what you want about DKM (one of my fav. bands ever), any self-respecting rock fan would never turn down the chance to see them on St. Patrick's Day in Boston, unless it were out of fear for injury.

Saw them in Long Beach once. Great, great show.
