Does anybody know how close these two are to committing? I have read on here that we lead for these two and was wondering when these two will commit.

Maybe somebody on here like Lord Vader would know.

Do we even want Johnson as a commit if he will have trouble getting in? Or do we take a lower rated player for number sakes.

Not close at all, probably wait on Wright until NSD & Johnson around NSD.

The staff should have a feel on where Johnson stands with grades before NSD & if he isnt close I think they would pass for someone they know can get in even if he is rated lower, we cant afford to have kids not qualifying.

I dont know...but we need all the DT's to sign that we can get! We need depth on D line bad! You always hear it, but now UT fans are seeing it....Games are won in the trenches!

Both of these guys like to play the recruiting game. I wouldn't bet on either one until the ink is dry on NSD. Anything they say about leaders or leans is more likely to be misinformation than truth.

Also need a JUCO DT that can step in and play. Look at Hughes last year as a Frosh. Got pushed around a lot. He has demonstrate significant improvment is power this year.

The fact that Mickey Johnson is a possible JUCO should not necessarily scare us off of him because we can do a sign and place with him. If, however, we thought he was going to be an ongoing academic problem, we would probably pass on him.
