Any word on DT's for 2011 class? Anyone close to committing or have UT as their #1?? We seem to have a lot of O lineman in the mix and really liking UT, but I am not hearing as much about interior D lineman. What gives?

I know some DE's will end up sliding inside to tackle, but I am not hearing as much about the hogmollies, big nasties??? thanks in advance :salute:

I guess Antonio Richardson could be considered a target for DT/OL. And also Corey Marshall who isnt quite a hogmollie yet.

I mean what happened to the days we had are pickings of the Albert Haynesworths, the John Hendersons and Billy Ratliffs of the world? The big nasty, mean, athletic 300+lbers!

I watched the 98 National Champ DVD lastnight and the dropoff to the present is mind boggling!

We have offered and seem to be in the running
Gabe Wright GA - had a really good unofficial visit recently; will still be a tough pull over Auburn, Bama, and UGA
DeMarcus Hodge LA - we offered and he seemed very excited; will be a tough pull if he gets an LSU offer
Mickey Johnson LA - we've offered; he seems excited about us and likes CTJ; will be a tough pull because he has offers from just about everyone
Maurice Couch KS (Juco) - we have offered, his only other offer is Troy
Allen Carson AL - we were the first to offer him and probably lead at this point
Corey Marshall VA - his top 4 are Michigan, UVA, Va Tech, and WVU; he seems to like us but hasn't had a lot of contact with the staff yet

We are interested but haven't offered yet

Cody Robinson TN - likes the Vols; we haven't offered him yet; he apparently had a good weekend at the training camp this weekend
Chris Mayes GA - his stock is rising and he's getting more offers in now, we've evaluated him but haven't offered
Devonte Brown NC - holds offers from several ACC schools, we've evaluated him I believe, but I don't think we offered him
James Maiden MS - we've evaluated but haven't offered him; he does hold an offer from USC
Terry Redden TN - we've evaluated him but haven't offered; has offers from clemson and ole miss but his recruitment hasn't picked up momentum yet
Mickey Jackson AL - we are evaluating him; he doesn't have any offers yet

We've offered but don't have much of a chance
Timmy Jernigan FL - gator lock
Viliami Moala CA - we've offered but he also holds offers from FL, Bama, USC, etc.
Todd Barr CA - we've offered him; he has offers from most of the Pac 10 (though not USC)

Committed to another school
Thomas Niles GA - committed to NC State; we offered but didn't follow up much (decided to pursue other targets)
Angelo Blackson DE - committed to Auburn; we had offered him

Thanks Sammy. That's great info. One thing I wonder about is why we haven't been able to sign at least one 5 star stud in the last 2 - 3 years. It's not like we haven't sent DT's to the pros; John Henderson, Albert Hanesworth, Dan Williams, all first round draft picks. Plus, there are quite a few others who have had great to good NFL careers (Reggie White DT/DE to name one of the greats), both recent and past. It's a position of weekness for us, with playing time to spare. Just curious why we haven't sealed the deal with one or two really good ones recently.

How about Darwin Walker, who kept us in the 98' Championship run, but never got credit for it. :disappointed:
