Here is a list of Scout DTs that are 4 and 5 stars. These guys have UT listed as school of interest:

Tim Jernigan
Desmond Jackson
Anthony Johnson
Viliami Moala
Todd Barr
Gabe Wright
Antwuan Woods
Lonnie Gosha
Mickey Johnson
Isiah Norton
Jonathan Jenkins

Of course there are some three stars too

Terry Bell
Chavis Akins
Chris Mayes
Chris Jones
Terry Redden
DeMarcus Hodge
Maurice Couch

Two from the first list and one or two from the second list makes MDBJJC a happy camper. GBO!

3 more studs will work along with Carson.

Don't forget about Saulsberry too. I feel like people are overlooking him because of his offer list but he could blow up during his Sr. year. Granted, he could get scooped up by on of the FL schools if that happens but he might also stick with his initial commitment and learning from Chuck Smith.

I was thinking he would be DE.

Nice list.

Just an observation here. UT has had great sucess getting DTs into the NFL. Yet, besides Montori, we have had a difficult 4 years at landing any. I remember in2007s recruiting class that we were almost this desperate for DTs, and landed none of them. Brooks and Chavis had good track records too.

I looked at Rivals about 2 weeks before NSD that year and we were being considered by 10 out of the top 10 DTs, and landed none. Still can't understand what is not to like @ UT. Weird. Hopefully thatsa changin'.

We could use at least 3 more DTs.....I think Dooley will be able to get a few on that list

He would make a great 3-4 DE if that's what we go to but I think he will outgrow the position over the next two years.

The thing is that we don't need 5* talent at DT to be successful with the scheme that Wilcox uses. We just need some big/strong guys with nasty attitudes and chips on their shoulders.

I can't see why we won't be able to find some of those guys in this class and Alan Carson definitely fits the bill. Also, if we get a solid JUCO DT then we will immediately upgrade for next year, esp with Walls coming back and gaining weight over the off-season.

I forget his name, but the kid who picked LSU at the last minute over UT is a pretty big loss. He was the type of guy who could have contributed some this year with his strength and leverage. I have no problem with short DT's as long as they are strong and can get under the OL. It's like blocking a cannonball....

Height and weight and Scout and ESPN have him listed as DE.

Rivals has him at DT but most on here say Rivals is not getting things right this year due to staff issues:

OK, just wondered...because I was thinking that also...but because he is already so tall and probably will grow a bit more it's hard to tell where he will fit in-in a year or so....thanks for the linkage.
