Rough start for Cutcliffe's Blue Devils looks like it might get rougher today.

So far, though, 7-0 ND, with 12 min left in the 1st.

Duke gets a 19 yard FG to make it 38-35 with 1:24 left in the game, and holds on for the victory.

This is a big win for Duke after losing to Northwestern and Wake Forest the past few weeks. At 2-2 now (with games already against a terrible UVA coming up as well as Army), Duke's not in the clear as far as a bowl game, but are at least in the "need two upsets" range of getting such.

Notre Dame, on the other hand, had such lofty early season aspirations but now falls to 1-3 on the year.

Way to go Blue Devils. Whipping those Fighting Irish! :good!:

It's a shame they didn't get their act together in the Northwestern and Wake Forest games before.

I only see 2 more "easier" wins on Duke's schedule (Army and UVA). They're going to have to work to get the other 2 needed to get to 6 from the rest of that schedule (they play GT, VT, UNC, Pitt, Miami, and Louisville).

The Irish were a 21-pt favorite in this game, making this the largest upset against Notre Dame since Air Force back in 1996.

I thought Army might be a tougher game since they were 3-0 but they just lost to a terrible Buffalo team.
