Didn't get to watch the Duke/UK game last night, but I was reading the recap earlier and saw where at the half Cal said something along the lines of how if this was the NBA, the Duke players would be fined because they were flopping all over the court. Was it that bad or was Cal just upset over a missed call or two?

Cal and UK are just not used to not getting every call. When these two meet up, the officials are in a quandary.

Duke flopping? No way!

lol...figured i'd add "sarcasm" in there because that isn't noticed much around here but probably a little bit of both..Cal use to getting calls and Duke notorious for flopping.

Cal was tongue in cheek- he mentioned it at halftime to Andy Katz. The flop calls, interestingly, started going the other direction in the second half.

It was ironic, becasue Kentucky's players, Goodwin most noticeably, got away with a few charges before the refs started whistling them in the first half. Duke wasn't flopping, as they usually do, they were just getting flattened by out of control UK players.

It's only natural that Calipari complains about this. He'll probably put a release up on his website requesting that Big Blue Nation ignore the haters that mention his flopping comments. Kentucky fans will swoon as usual, and the rest of us will wonder WTF Calipari has to complain about. The world will continue to turn.

Fouls were like 20 to 21 in Duke's favor and FT 25 to 24 in Duke's favor, which included 4-6 FT at the end with UK trying to extend the game. Any objective fan would say the game was called fairly. Now the issue is trying to find an objective UK fan.

he was being the usual b**** that he is. i counted two in the first half that should have been a charge but weren't called.

Coach K defenses are notorious for flops. Ask any UNC fan. Cal didn't say anything that wasn't new. He just gets critized for saying something every other coach is thinking. There were a few plays where i thought a sniper had just shot a dUKe player in the head. They'll have to relearn how to play defense in the NBA or they'll get suspended.

Love seeing Cal lose and then whine about it. It's only time before all his wins are vacated for cheating.

If you are complaining about players flopping. Isn't that criticizing the refs for not calling it basically. Shouldn't there be a fine coming.

Good point. But denying the fact Dukes notorious for these petty charges is ridiculous. Its a serious problem in all the NCAA and they've yet to change anything about it.

Duke is one of the more fundamentally sound programs around. They're doing nothing wrong if they sell a charge. It's up to the ref to know what is and what is not a foul. Because a ref makes a bad call does not mean we should create more rules.

At home hell yea. Im not gonna deny the obvious

edit: im not implying the refs called a one sided game. Just that there were 3 or 4 charges that were laughable.

This post is full of crap. First, players have a responsibility to abide by the rules and try their hardest without finding ways around those rules. By flopping, they are cheating in the deception of the ref. Second, you're correct in saying the ref is responsible for knowing what is/isn't a foul. Then someone needs to teach them because it's not a very good system if it happens a lot. Third, yes Duke is a fundamentally sound program. They are doing something wrong if they are flopping (as said above, it's cheating). That being said, it's not only Duke, many other players from many teams do it.

Refs don't decide the game, players do. That night Duke players outplayed Kentucky players. I don't see what the big deal is. Cal would say what any coach would from their point of view. Only because it's Cal does VN care. If CCM said it all of you would support him wholeheartedly. It's all pov.

The Irony of a cheater accusing someone else of cheating. I love it. And they get beat.
