Two Duke football players have been cited for underage possession of alcohol.
Police reports obtained Thursday by The News & Observer of Raleigh indicated quarterback Thaddeus Lewis and cornerback Leon Wright were issued citations early Wednesday morning in Chapel Hill.
The newspaper reported that both players were given breathalyzer tests and each registered a .03 blood-alcohol level. The players, who are both 20 years old, were given citations for underage drinking.
A team spokesman said Duke had no comment and coach David Cutcliffe would handle the situation internally.
Both players were starters as sophomores last season. Lewis threw for 2,430 yards and 21 touchdowns while Wright had 67 tackles, three interceptions and a fumble recovery.
