Duke

Paulus and McRoberts are the only reason Duke was even in that game last night.

I know McRoberts did as well, as far as points go. He also added 12 rebounds, 5 blocks, and 4 assists.

I can't stand McRoberts but he is good. He might not score 15 or 20 a game, but he is a 6'10 guy who can dribble, pass, rebound, block shots, and score when its necessary. If he was a little bit more aggressive about scoring instead of trying to get an assist, he'd be a lottery pick.

McRoberts is a good player and has the potential to be a great player by the time his college career ends. Expect him to bang around the NBA for a while as well.

I think the verdict is still out on Paulus, despite a very good game from him last night. He can shoot, he can handle, he can pass, but he often tries to do to much and gets out of control or simply goes brain-dead and makes bad decisions. He is just a sophomore, but he is going to have to mature out of those tendencies if Duke is ever going to be more than decent with him at the point.

Colin Cowherd said today he was looking at the Duke roster and they had 6 Mickey D All-Americans. He suggested that Coach K might want to start looking at Burger King next year. Now that is funny.

All the Duke haters better relish this year while they can. The Devils will be back with a vengeance next year.

Word. I've seen Singler play before, from down in Medford. Kid has basketball smarts like I've never seen. Duke is getting one hell of a class.

Hopefully McRoberts will stay and some of their young players can improve in the offseason along with Paulus trying to get a better understanding on running the offense. They are getting some great recruits. This makes for a run to the final 4.

Bang around the NBA is the right way to word it. He'll be a journeyman player that is only in the league due to his size. You guys are seriously overrating McRoberts. He may have looked good against VCU, but he played like crap the entire season when he was up against real competition. The only thing he does particularly well is pass. It's too bad he isn't a point guard.

First off ever team flops..they just had a off year, Paulus is ok..McRoberts I think is very good. And sorry Vol423, i watched every Duke game this year..he played good more than he played bad. They have a incredible recruiting class this year. As far as stats goes this year it was Duke's youngest team since 1946...the first time Sophmores have been team captains...ended a string of (at least) 15 straight sweet 16 appearance...only second year in last 9 they have not won the ACC. Hate Duke if you want, but they are good. Every team has a bad year...UNC did a couple years ago when they lost like 16 games the year before Roy Williams came. Just watch out for Duke, they aint losing anyone of importance this year and with another strong recruiting class they will DEF be back next year..mark my word..just the people that hate them are just sick of them winning, no reason more....as for now GO VOLS!

Unless half of Carolina's team goes pro early, UNC will whip up on Duke again next year.
What does that have to do with Duke being great next year? How much did UT's two wins over Florida last year hinder their championship run?

I guess the team Dule just LOST TO doesn't count as real competition?!

The only thing McRoberts lacks is a strong offensive presence. If he can figure that out, he'll be unstoppable. He already is a tough defensive player along with the great passing skills that you mentioned.

There are a lot worse things you could say about a college player than he won't be a star in the NBA. Not a star in the league equates to very, very good college player.
