Dumb question.

What do the stars by some posters' names mean? For example I see two by my name, more by some others. I assume it's some sort of reputation system, but hell if I can figure out where it is and how it works.

I did the same thing when I first got on here. Searched everywhere on here trying to find something to explain them.
