I see from time to time on Facebook the "codes" of Netflix to find all the other genres of movies. How do you use them to find the movies?? Told ya it was a stupid ? lol :)

Disregard that. Get Kodi. Have anything you ever wanted to watch at your finger tips...for free. BOOM.

Stoked - you got any resources you could share on getting Kodi setup optimally? Do you use a laptop of Fire stick?

What are the must have apps?

I've toyed around with it to watch NFL games, but the learning curve is decidedly steep for your average bear.

I'd like to get a user friendly setup so my wife and kids will adopt so I can finally "cut the cord"

About a year ago someone gave a very detailed step by step set up for Kodi in the football forum. I tried It on my Mac and jail broken iPad but it constantly crashed so I gave up.

Recently replaced my TV and the new one just happened to be an Android TV (I bought it based on picture quality not any Smart features). I saw the Kodi app and gave it another shot. Seems to be much more stable. I only added the Exodus add-on so far but it has tons of TV shows and movies. I'm still not a fan of the interface though. No way my wife navigates it without help. Also things say they are HD, and they mostly look fine, but you can tell a distinct difference from other paid streaming services.

I haven't really dabbled into the live tv part of Kodi, since I still have Dish. I watch sports through Dish live, but movies and TV series through Kodi.

I use my laptop and mirror it to my TV through my Apple TV. I had a Fire stick, but Kodi was too buggy for me. It buffered way too much.

The learning curve wouldn't be too much for your wife, but for your kids it might be depending how old they are. There are sections for movies and there is a section for shows. They have a search function that allows you to search whatever you want. Most everything is in 1080P too. They have movies that are in theater, but the quality isn't the best until the movie has been out a month or so.

I found out how to download Kodi through YouTube. It's pretty simple imo.
