Strengths: Dwight is a strong, big body. He has a competent offensive game, especially on the outside where he has a nice outside shot. He has good explosive ability around the rim and decent touch. Dwight uses his body down in the block to take on big guys on the low post. Dwight also has nice three point range, despite only taking eight last year. Dwight also has shown flashes of being a good shot blocker, with good timing and quick hops to tell him swat away shots. At times, Dwight has shown an ability to pull down rebounds, especially in traffic, using his quick leaping ability to get the basketball.
Weaknesses: Dwight is very limited on the low block. He has virtually no low post moves. This hurts him on offense, especially since he also is slow with his moves. Dwight also struggles in pick and roll defense, and why he doesn't get big minutes. He is not quick laterally, and seems to forget to recover back to his man. Dwight has not shown consistency in his game. He also drifts on the perimeter offensively, which hurts his ability to rebound offensively.
Final Thoughts: Dwight is an effective 5th big man, in the sense he can give you minutes and not hurt you in case injuries occurred. Dwight, while having some positives to his game, also has a lot of weaknesses with his inability to play consistent defense, means he doesn't see consistent playing time. Dwight has some talent, especially on offense, but with lack of defense and lack of rebounding instincts, he's not going to see a lot of time. However, he's a good player who works hard, and in appropriate times, can be used effectively.
