Dynasty battle. Modern Bama vs The U.

I would say Miami has been a real disappointment since joining the ACC. I think only 1 10+ win season.

Bama has a way better legacy. That being said, when Miami was at its peak they seemed like the greatest college football team ever assembled. As much as Bama cheats, the 90’s-2000’s Miami program was probably the dirtiest football program ever and no one else comes close.

Hard to really answer that question.

Miami has been "over" for 20 years after a 20 years stretch of greatness.

I wanna see what Bama does after Saban finally hangs them up. Do they simply re-tool for another dynasty? Do they revert to Dennis Franchione funk?

Bama literally stole Miami’s mojo back in that ‘93 Sugar Bowl.

Since then they’ve won a half dozen chips...I’ll take Bama.

I think 2020 Alabama and 2019 LSU are hands down the best teams.

I think modern Alabama teams would crush the 1990s powerhouse. I watched 1998 Florida vs. Tennessee and both teams would be absolutely demolished by modern Alabama teams. The offenses were just not as potent and the play calling as aggressive as they are today. I think the players are bigger and faster and the coaching is more difficult.

To summarize, Saban's Alabama teams would destroy Miami's great teams, Pete Carroll's USC teams, Philip Fulmer's Tennessee teams, Spurrier's Florida teams, and Bobby Bowden's FSU teams.

The violence that 2020 team would be exposed to would horrify them for 4 quarters. That Miami team had layers of great players that didn’t want to just bear people they wanted to intimidate and embarrass people. This “new” brand of football player wouldn’t last a half against the great Miami teams.

Why Miami as a comparison here? If anything would be, I would think Tom Osborne’s Nebraska.

Miami won 4.5 titles over a 19-year stretch. Alabama won 6 titles over a 12-year stretch. The only thing that you can really give Miami credit for is that they won those titles with four different head coaches. Even talent wise, Alabama has been head and shoulders above Miami. Over that same 19-year stretch, Miami had 26 first round selections. Over their 12-year span title winning span, Alabama had 38 first round picks. There’s really no comparison between the two programs.
