EA Looking at Putting In Game Ads in AAA Games

They tried it with the UFC4 game a few years ago on release. Had ads on loading screens that were not related to the game or gaming at all. The backlash made them remove it. Hopefully people react the same. It would be different if all that ad money went into making the game better, but c'mon. Greed at it's finest. Now, they're going to sell you advertisment. Instead of paying to not have ads, you have to buy and pay to have ads. Hmmm.

They even did it back with NHL and NBA Live way back, I remember now.

Would rather pay 90 bucks a game than see this crap.
People were very willing to accept this in free mobile games.

Then they did it in free PC games, and we said okay….

Then they did it with “freemium” titles, and we said “that’s a bit ridiculous but whatever”

Now it’s in full price games and they’ve kind of accustomed the younger audience coming up in gaming now to think it’s normal.

Interesting take on this. I’m not on board with in game ads for a lot of games, but could it be the avenue to bring back other college sports games like basketball and baseball?
