Early 2012-2013 Rankings...

Probably about right. I was thinking possibly top 40. The last 3 games kind of makes me worry about this team having the same issues as last year. We play like we did against SSU and MTSU, then we could easily get just a bad losses next year that could haunt us throughout the season.

We r a top 20 team next year if they stay healthy and continue to develop.

This^.. And cut down on the turnovers from the 1.

Exactly why my 2 biggest keys are trae taking the next step as a PG, and Jordy really finding that consistency and next level.

If we can get trae to be a 10-12ppg 6or7apg 2to 4rpg 40%3pt......and jordy to be a 13+ppg 5rpg 40+%3pt.....well be in a good spot IMO. Those are the 2 biggest ? IMO.

Disagree, unless there is some major improvement from the wing positions offensively.

Edwards might provide that.
He finished at about 45% shooting percentage this season.
If it translates he'll be one of our better scorers.
If you need a comparison, Goins shot about 40% as a juco and it translated to about a 38% at TN.

That guy's an idiot. How can you possible rank teams when he has no idea who is and isn't leaving? Duke #1, come on...

Speaking of Edwards, final numbers were:

14ppg 7.5rpg 1.4apg 2.3topg 45%fg 36%3pt 75%ft....

I like the rebounding and ppg, but the a:to and perimeter shot is a bit worrisome. Hopefully he gets it cleaned up before he gets here and can step in and start at the 3 and jordy the 2.

Well if you click the link he goes into detail how this can/will change depending on players leaving/joining and coaches leaving etc...

It's meant for fun and discussion purposes, nothing official, calm down.

I disagree with most of the blurbs on SEC teams, but I do think that Tennessee is placed about right.

EDIT: For example, he's wrongly assuming that Young will leave. He's been saying for the past month that he's staying. With his inconsistency, he played his way out of the lottery and would be a late first round pick. He'll probably stay, so I think Florida will be a lot higher in the preseason rankings. If they land Anthony Bennett (I understand that he said he wasn't taking into account where recruits would go), then they'd be a Top 10 team easily.

I'd also put LSU where he put Missouri, put Missouri where he put Mississippi State, and move Mississippi State the hell out of the Top 60 (and Top 100 for that matter). MSU will be a complete mess next year.

Also, where is he getting that Grant might not be back for Alabama next year? There haven't been any rumors about him taking a bigger job, and there's no way he'd be fired...

Be straight up with me. Is Young NBA talent? Not accusing, but he was a no show in our series this past season. Sincerely curious.

He averaged 9.5 pts and 7.5 rebs in two games against us this year. Those are not mind-blowing stats, but respectable. He struggles with consistency in regards to toughness and desire at times. If he plays like his talent is capable, he is a sure-fire 1st rd pick. IMO, he declares this year, but doesn't hire an agent, and based on his draft grade combined with who else declares, I can see him coming back.

Chism had good numbers, but we know he's never going to see an NBA court.

Wow, next season is going to be COMPLETELY up for grabs. Tennessee is returning a lot of talent, compared to most teams. I really think this could be a top 20-30 team.

NC State may be the one of the top 2-3 teams if CJ Leslie returns. UNC, Kentucky, Kansas, Ohio State and Syracuse are losing a lot. Duke will be really good if Mason Plumlee stays, they will return 4/5 starters, add in Alex Murphy a redshirt top 15 recruit who plays a lot like Dunleavy and additionally could be get a Top 30 2010 recruit, Jr. transfer Ziegler.

A lot of sophs/players that should have been drafted last year returned this year, which is unusual (Barnes, Sullinger, T. Jones, Lamb, Henson). All those guys are gone, except maybe Lamb.

The numbers I provided were simply for the purpose of pointing out that he wasn't non-existent in both games against us. He was outplayed by our bigs in both games, but I wouldn't describe him as non-existent. But, to each their own.

The nba drafts off potential. Patric young is a 6'10" big man with a body most nba guys don't have , and on top of that is a freak athlete. They see the potential in him and that's why he's a projected lottery pick.

Same can be said for Drummond, albeit a different player, but still. Numbers weren't all that impressive and in some games was a no show. However, nba sees the potential in him and do he's a top 5 pick.

NBA talent? Yes. Before this season, he was in the Top 5 on most boards, and has been compared to a slightly smaller Dwight Howard. He struggled with consistency and the will to assert himself, so he'd be a late first round pick now. Who knows if he ever makes it in the NBA, though.

Beal's gone, though. He'll be a Top 5 pick.
