Collegefootballnews.com:

Saturday, September 18th - Florida at Tennessee

Much has been made about the road team winning the last four games in this series so it's tempting to think Ron Zook's Florida team will come up with the win over the Vols in Knoxville. Florida won't have the defense early on to take advantage of what will be a struggling Tennessee passing attack, but the Gator offense won't be able to do much against the Volunteer defensive front seven.

Predicted score in early August: Tennessee 23 Florida 17

Saturday, October 2nd - Auburn at Tennessee

Fresh off a breather with the Citadel and with Louisiana Tech ahead, Auburn goes to Knoxville to what could be called the preview of sleepers for the SEC title. Tennessee's defense should be one of the best in the nation against the run and should keep the Carnell Williams show from going too wild. This will be a tight game that should be decided by field position. That's where Volunteer All-America punter Dustin Colquitt comes in.

Predicted score in early August: Tennessee 20 Auburn 17

Saturday, October 9th - Tennessee at Georgia

As SEC schedules go Tennessee has it relatively easy with Florida, Auburn and Alabama coming to Knoxville and the road games not all that bad playing at Ole Miss, South Carolina and Vanderbilt. The one brutal issue is a road trip to play SEC East favorites Georgia. The Vols can't win the SEC East if they lose this game and the Dawgs will take care of business. Tennessee doesn't have the passing game (at least not going into the season) to hurt the Bulldog defense and should have issues if it doesn't get the momentum early. This won't be last year's 41-14 debacle, but Georgia will still win.

Predicted score in early August: Georgia 27 Tennessee 10

Saturday, October 16th - Alabama at Tennessee

If everything goes according to Alabama dream world the Tide should be 7-0 before going to Knoxville. That's asking a lot, but it's possible. This might be a must win for the Vols coming off road games at Georgia and Ole Miss before traveling to South Carolina. The Tennessee defense will be enough to win a hard fought game with the Vol running game doing just enough to counteract Brodie Croyle and the Alabama passing game. This won't be a repeat of the five-overtime 51-43 classic of last year.

Predicted score in August: Tennessee 24 Alabama 17

Saturday, November 6th - Notre Dame at Tennessee

The Notre Dame schedule isn't all that bad with the exception of two brutal road games at Tennessee and USC. The Vols will be taking time out of their busy SEC schedule to deal with the Irish. These are two of the tougher teams to figure out going into the season as each has question marks with the passing game and each has the potential to be in the top ten or battle for a winning record depending on how things start to play out. There's no reason to believe this will be a blowout either way with the Vols getting the upper hand at home.

Predicted score in early August: Tennessee 24 Notre Dame 17

I would say that if we only lose to Georgia I could probably live with that.

I know we are going to lose some games, but the ones that hurt are the ones that keep us out of the SECC (like GA).

UT could very well lose to UGA and still make the SECCG.
UGA has UF who they haven't beat since the Titanic set sail or so it seems and LSU who could very well beat them or beat them up the week before facing UT. They also have a hard time with SC and they have to go to Arky and Aubie.

regardless i think we have the power to once again make a successful bowl appearance. It's gonna be tough to be the champions, but if our talent can come togehter it is very possible to see a devastating team this year :bash:
