Since the news that our fresh meat will be joining the SEC ahead of schedule, let’s give predictions on the first year SEC records for both programs. This prediction also assumes that the SEC will move to a 9 game schedule.

TX - they’ve been tearing it up on the recruiting front, but so has A&M and look how that’s turned out so far. I’ll say they go 4-5 in league play. Classic Sarkisian.

OU - They’ve certainly dropped off since Riley’s departure to USC, but had a successful full recruiting cycle under the current staff. I’ll say 5-4 and they’ll beat the longhorns in year one.

Texas will go about 10 and 2. Oklahoma 9 and 3. Unlike some seem to think, they will not be middle of the pack. They will be in the upper 1/3.

I won't guess a record without a schedule but I think they both shock us just like Mizzou did when they came into the league. There's a lot of pride on the line for those 2 schools. We've always chided other schools with the mantra of "those guys wouldn't make it in the SEC....". Well. Now they are here.........and it's put up or shut up time. Either of those teams can beat anybody in the SEC not named Alabama or Georgia. The question is, WILL they beat everybody not named Alabama or Georgia?

That actually has a lot to do with how they finish.

If the SEC goes to an East/West alignment which I think is more likely than many others do... then LSU, TAM, OU, and Tex make a pretty good trio of competitors with Arkansas, OM, MSU, and Mizzou able to pop up for some upsets. But I think you would see LSU the standard bearer for that side most year.

The East would be an absolute murderer's row. UT, Bama, Auburn, UF, UGA with USCe and UK close behind

Just move Auburn over to the East and add the other two. Simple. This keeps some balance and nobody will holler Foul.

Alabama - Georgia,
LSU-Tennessee,
Texas - Kentucky,
Texas A&M - Florida,
Oklahoma - Auburn,
Ole Miss - Vanderbilt,
Arkansas - USCe,
Miss State - Missouri.

Eryybody said TAMU would get destroyed upon coming to the SEC. Hasn't really happened. I think tx and OU will do just fine. Probably not winning the conference right away, but they will post winning seasons most every year and will compete for the SEC title within 5 years.

I can't even take this seriously. How much do you want to bet they don't finish 10-2? I will put $1,000 right now if you got the balls!

How many SECCG appearances does TAM have since joining the league?
