I know I'm biased but id say memphis is by far the most talented but the coaching is pretty bad overall. If they had some of middle or east tn coaches coaching the west tn teams, with the athletes they have they'd be taking home a lot of state championships imo

Congrats to Bill Price at Signal Mountain. We had him here at Coffee County and he took a team that won 0-1-2 games a year to winning 6 and 7.

I don't know what it is but the east teams brings home more gold than the west does year in and year out . I still can't understand something from last year they moved Trousdale County to the west and this year back to the east this year . I dont know why the TSSAA did that . But what the TSSAA have done over the last couple of years haven't maded any sense to my anyway .

Read my post up there^^^. I'm telling you its all coaching, the west is severely lacking in that area. I saw a much more athletic whitehaven team lose to a well coaches smyrna team bc WH's offense and deffense were very very basic. Their offense was like that of a middle school team, it just got them past most because of pure athletic ability.

Like I said, I am biased. But I don't see how anybody can make a real argument that the west has better coaches than the middle or east. If y'all have some examples let me know, I might have missed some

The reason West Tennessee teams don't do well in playoffs is the same reason that SWAC teams can't proceed past the first couple of rounds in the FCS championship playoffs, lack of discipline and lack of defense. Go back to when Walter Peyton played for Jackson State, Steve McNair played for Alcorn St, or Jerry Rice played for MVSU, all of them were NCAA record breakers, all of them and their teams put up phenomenal stats during their careers, but all of them got put out in first or second rounds of the playoffs during their stellar seasons. Better athletes, yes, better teams, noway!!!

That's what I'm saying! While they have better athletes, they are not better teams because of a lack of coaching.

But i disagree with you on your deffensive point to a certain extent. Whitehaven had one of the best defenses in the state iirc, giving up just over 100 points in 13 games. They only gave up 10 to smyrna, but because of their lack of any offense, only manage to get 7 points, and therefore lost.

It just depends though, your right that some west teams score a lot but can't D it up, but there are some really good and physical defenses out here that don't have an O to help them out

you guys can say what you want...East has athletes as well. (but I agree it takes coaching) look at your A-E's, Fulton, Howard, Tyner, and Red Bank to name a few.

Alcoa has pleanty of athletes. for the life of me I cannot understand why more kids from there are not getting looks! (this is where you insert Randall Cobb as an example) After watching them a couple times the last couple years I am starting to believe....

The Warren kid could easily play fullback at UT!
